Agios Sostis, Serifos, Greece. Oil on panel. 10 by 10. Gifted.

For relatives in Italy ❤️

My friend whom I have lost touch with for a few years because I have lost his phone number while switching phones texted me while I was finishing up this painting.

We did some catching up. Then he said something that gave me affirmation on letting go: “I’m beginning to realize that sometimes in life one just needs to go forward.” by @suchness.love

We were painting outside.
It was windy.
Someone asked,
“How do you paint the wind?”
I motioned with my brush
Like wind moving,
And made swooshing
And swishing sounds.
The sound effects is important
To painting the wind,
Otherwise, it is not wind.

And then we drove by the Bidens sending them good vibrations.

No matter your pace, you will get there.

Walk at your own pace. You don’t have to match the crowd. Slow and steady wins the race. You don’t owe the world a show. by @suchness.love

Late Summer/Early Fall
Acrylic marker on acrylic paint, 12 x 12

“When you find yourself paralyzed by all the ‘what ifs’ try to remember that things could also go wonderfully, unexpectedly, fantastically right.” ~ Nanea Hoffman

An unexpectedly fun experiment with acrylic markers. And also fun with the imperfections and impermanence of things.

This looks like I used a digital image editor to scribble the sunflowers, but it is actually acrylic marker painted on acrylic paint. by @suchness.love

“Fiction is eternal; reality perishes. Invented forms live; real ones vanish. Truth is ephemeral; illusion, everlasting.”
— Jiri Krasek Ze Lvovic, Gothic Soul

Just as the river is never the same river because it is always flowing, reality as we know it is ephemeral, an illusion. When an artist paints, they are not painting reality but capturing a fleeting moment in time and space. The artist creates a painting that invites us in, letting our minds create forms to fit a narrative.

Physicist David Bohm described matter as “condensed or frozen light.” What is your reality? What is your illusion?

May all beings be happy and free 🙏🏼

Fondly remembering the past before all hell seemed to have broken loose?

Let it go, and honor it by learning from the past to build a better future.

You have the power to create a better one; one present moment at a time.
