🩷 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! 🩷

Welp girls, I’m officially 30 years young! Entering my 30s feeling like I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing and surrounded by amazing friends who I adore is definitely not a bad place to be ☺️🩷 can’t thank everyone enough for all the love, support and memories of my 20s, feeling sentimental boots 🥹

You knew I was going to do something extra for this one - and I chose to pay tribute to one of my favourite icons!! I saw the Leigh Bowery exhibit at the Tate last summer, and saw this look and took a picture with the intention of recreating it and I am so happy with how it turned out! 😭

Need to sing the praises of @bald_eagle_design for a min who absolutely KILLED this. I’m truly in awe of his talent and it was an absolute dream to collaborate on this!! Thank you for your work and time and for being so invested in the process 🩷😭🎂🍰🧁

Also HUGE thanks to the wonderful @liam_in_leeds for your work in making this shoot happen - you documented it so beautifully and I had so much fun with you!! Big shoutout to @kjwithoutcerfew for the space and for your help on the day ❣️❣️❣️

TRANS RIGHTS NOW !! 🩷💙🏳️‍⚧️

Just in case it’s not completely obvious, I stand firmly with my trans siblings. The trans community is under attack and we’ve seen a rise in people being openly transphobic since the Supreme Court ruling.

Just so we’re clear - trans men are men and trans women are women. Obsessing over someone’s genitals is weird.

TERFs and organisations like For Women Scotland are actively working to exclude trans people from public spaces and discriminate against them socially and legally, under the guise of “protecting women and children”.

But trans people don’t want more rights… they just want equal rights. Honestly at this point they just want to be left alone to be themselves without fear of exclusion and harassment.

I would encourage you all to take a look at @lawsadrag and @goodlawproject and delve a little deeper into what these rulings would mean for trans people in daily life. Cis people and people who have the privilege of blending in with what society deems “normal” - the time to speak up was yesterday. Check in on your trans mates, speak up for them, BOOK them. The queer community would be nothing without the T and their contributions to art, performance, drag, and so on. Trans people will always have a safe space at a Sue Pertrouper show and in my life 🩷💙

I was inspired by my queen @jadethirlwall and her look for Radio 1 Big Weekend - I loved her using her festival run and FUFN to say 🖕🏻 to all the bullshit we’re facing right now ‼️

WHAT ROLLERS?!

I call this look CLUB KIDDA BEAN ❤️‍🔥 inspired by my love of Leigh Bowery/club kids and the best people in the world… Scouse prinnys 🥰 this was my runway look for @misschief_cabaret pageant which I WON!! More to come on that 😝

So fun to finally collab with powerhouse photographer and all round angel @keldaycaptures for this fierce shoot!! Follow and book her she is the best 📸❣️

One of the things I loved about Leigh Bowery’s work was the photography of him in these absurd outfits with the most mundane normal surroundings. There’s something so fierce to me about this big camp creature in the middle of a sea of dreary normality 🤡

Expect to see more camp club kid looks from me in the coming months… I’m feeling very creative and inspired!!!

We are bringing Drag and Draw to Leeds with the one and only Sue Pertrouper as your host and muse for the evening! Doors open at 6:30, grab a drink and a good seat, then settle in for an evening of drag as you've never experienced before.

All abilities are welcome; you might unearth a new talent...or find that stick men are your comfort zone.

Do you need materials?
No! Colourful art materials are provided for you, but you are also very welcome to bring your own.
