A little update... ❤️

After a very worrying few months, I’m incredibly relieved and grateful to share that both the bladder tumour and the gynae cyst were found to be benign.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your kind messages, support, and encouragement. They helped more than you could possibly imagine during some very anxious days.

Also so grateful for the professionalism and kindness received from the NHS.

For anyone currently waiting for tests or results, I know how difficult the uncertainty can be. Sending you lots of love and hoping for good news too❤️

Here's the reason why I haven't been posting the past couple of months. Strange things have been happening since the end of June in my sleep where I've collapsed and remember vaguely being on the bedroom floor. I've had 9 collapses, without any recollection of the bit before the fall. I fell next to my bed and had to move my heavy bedside table heavy as I'd crashed into it and was badly bruised. Scary.

One time I had to go to A&E as I hit my head and because I take blood thinners, was advised to get checked over. 8 hours later I was home. There wasn't anything found life threatening which is a positive.

But.... last week after checking some footage on my mobile - I was advised to set up a camera to record any nighttime movement - it looked like i was having a possible seizure. Lasting 50 minutes. I lay horizontal on the bed, my legs bending at 90° angles & flexing, with twisting for 20 seconds. 43 times.

So to cut a long story short. I've been back and forth to my GP who's made a neurology referral, but apparently the waiting list is 8 months for a specialist neurology hospital in London.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a 12 lead ecg (have a routine gp appt to discuss on Monday) and a 24 hour holter that needs repeating as there was only 7.5 hours of footage. Great. A heart echo that was normal and bloods taken this week.

I took the bull by the horns and as much as I have the greatest respect for the NHS, I'm having to go down the private medical route to be seen quickly and have an appointment tomorrow morning. Just keeping everything crossed so that I'll get some answers and a plan moving forward.

Here's a little makeup look taken back in July on a boiling hot day, wearing my favourite eyeshadow palette, the iconic Lisa Eldridge Betty palette.

I truly believe makeup is a form of therapy. Its a safe creative space. It brings a community together. Gives clarity, peace and pzazz to all of us. Peace out lovelies. Roll on Friday. Love ya xox

Can you remember a time when glowy skin wasn't a thing? Oh how I love a pinky dewy sheen on the cheek - its so flattering and glazes the skin with a subtle pink hue. @lisaeldridgemakeup Elevated Glow in Pink Moon is a dream to apply. Just dab the top of the hand, lightly tap with the ring finger and you'll be glowing gorgeous. Keep cool lovelies, its getting hotter by Wednesday. Fun fact - my birthday is coming up - 29th July and it's also International Lipstick Day💄 Perfick! Love xx

Updates and sparkles. If there's one thing that feels like home, a comfort blanket - it's makeup. Since the surgery, I'd not had the energy to film, that is, until yesterday evening. I'm waiting for the biopsy results. This is the hardest bit.

Yesterday was the perfect day to forget all the bladder c stuff celebrating my nephew Joshua's 21st birthday. It was such a memorable day and I'm so proud of him.

So now for some sparkles. @lisaeldridgemakeup Sorcery Eyeshadow Palette fitted the bill perfectly. Think soft daytime sparkle. Applying the shade Mercurial as eyeliner, using small strokes, very close to the lashline. Mercurial is described as a prismatic green to heather duochrome' and probably one of my fave shades from the Sorcery palette. For extra intensity, I've applied Mercurial over Lisa's Seamless Glide Eye Pencil in Ground Work.

I've paired this with Lisa's new Velatura Balm Dewy Lip & Cheek Stick in Cinnamon Buns on the lips and cheeks.

IB Jacinta Spencer's Rhode Piggy Reel 💕 Here's my spin wearing @lisaeldridgemakeup Velatura Balm for Lips and Cheeks in Rose Madder.

It doesn't get easier than this. A few dabs on the apples of your cheek, blend with fingers towards your hairline in small upward strokes. You can blend using a brush, but personally, I prefer fingers so not to waste any product. I like to apply a couple 'layers', being a glowy blush fanatic. I'd describe the balm sticks as moisture rich, comfortable, slightly 'juicy' and non greasy. Great on the lips too, just retouch after eating/drinking.

Yikes! #bladdercancer update. There's only two more days to go now until D Day. The op is Friday. Feeling scared on a scale of 0-10 - a 7, but very grateful to our NHS, having the tumour removed in such a fast turnaround. Just two weeks after the scope where the Dr told me of the suspicious finding.

It's not been officially diagnosed, as in given an official title, stage, grade etc - but I have been told, it's likely to be a bladder tumour. So on Friday, once it's been removed, (thankfully it's small) they'll take a biopsy, inject some chemo, antibiotics and it'll be a couple of weeks wait to find out exactly what we're dealing with.

The hardest part undoubtedly is the uncertainty. I remember this distinctly, when going through bowel cancer. The unknown is a head*&%^ - but your comments, DM'S and support has honestly kept me going - so thank you × loads for your kind & generous words.

Tbh I've struggled focusing on anything since my last post, apart from The Pitt on HBO and MAFS. I've been eating the wrong stuff, but decided to be gentler to myself & not so harsh. I'll get back to it again once things settle.

So for now, my instafam, if you have any pearls of wisdom, I'm all ears. Love you all. NN 4 now xox tbc

Tiny joys lately. It's been a really difficult couple of weeks mentally, but today was a better day. After finding out the bladder tumour was benign nearly 2 weeks ago, initially I was over the moon, but something switched and I plummeted into a very dark place. I was eating anything I wanted to soothe and calm anxiety, without caring about the consequences. I wanted to hide. Isolate.

But having reflected, now I can think clearer, my reaction was understandable. After being told there was a suspected bladder tumour, that in itself was shattering and all the implications that goes with it.

The procedure to remove the tumour was the 'easy bit', its the waiting game for the biopsy results. It really was torture.

Gradually gradually things started to shift and feel lighter. I was back in control. I'm partial to a to-do list especially the ticking off bit. I set a morning alarm, then meditated and started decluttering a particularly chaotic cupboard. I did it slowly over a couple of weeks and if I say so myself, I did a great job. There's far more invaluable cupboard space.

One other issue was my estrogen bloods were 8 times higher than they should be. My meno dr said to halve the dose of HRT estrogen gel. 1 sachet instead of 2 and not on the arm area. All good fun.

So things are not so bad. They're pretty much good.
