i just wanted to write.
i live in grief. i carry the weight of it around with me everywhere i go. the grief of my childhood, my father, estranged family, long lost connections- every day i have to pep talk myself into the day ahead of me. i find comfort in solitude but the space i create between myself and those who care most is vast. i pride myself in being understanding and accepting despite how strongly opinionated i am. i was a very voluntarily isolated child growing up, so connecting is hard. i find the only way to speak is to create- but the creative scene is so loud rn. it’s overwhelming. it pushes me back into my cave. but i am not fulfilled unless i build a world for myself, with a light signal that says “likeminded people welcomed here”. my purpose behind my art is to fill the gap grief left in me and finally have a home. by @suespixon
