Our Off-Season Service Sale starts today! Now through the end of January we have discounted prices on our service packages, including a whopping $100 off our Full Overhaul Package! November is our slowest month of the year so do us a favor and give us something to do! . We always give your bikes 110% care but it’s possible we might give an extra 10% love on top of that this time of year as we try to make those tune ups really fill up our day 😃. . Here’s a list of common things that get overlooked during the riding season and now is a great time to address those things: . Stationary Trainer Bikes need love too. Sweat can corrode your drivetrain, cables, bolts, and bearings. Let us clean it up, lube it up, and replace those items that are beyond saving! . For those of you that ride Fat Tire bikes, chances are your fatty could use a tune up as well and if it’s tubeless it most definitely needs sealant! You don’t want to deal with a flat when it’s cold out, so let us make sure that sealant is topped off. . Mountain bikers, your suspension and dropper posts require routine maintenance to function properly. If you’ve ridden 50 hours on your bike then your suspension could use a simple service. If you’ve ridden 100 hours your suspension definitely needs a 100 hr service. If you bought a used mountain bike chances are the suspension has never been serviced, even if the seller told you it was 😂. Now is the time to get this done! Don’t wait until it’s too late! . #sugarbottombikes by @sugar_bottom_bikes

Happy New Bike Day to our dude Taylor!!!! Taylor is just as stoked as we are for the new currently under construction Iowa City Pump Track! Not only do we have BMX Bikes and Dirt Jumpers but we’ve got options!! We talked over some of the options and Taylor decided this sick rigid @fairdalebikes Hareraiser was the way to go! Taylor’s got the bike…. now all that’s left to do is wait! Here’s to hoping for good weather so the crew that’s hard at work can get that track finished. Come see of us if you need a bike so you can join in on the fun. 🤘 . #sugarbottombikes #dirtjumper #fairdalehareraiser by @sugar_bottom_bikes
Our Employee & Friends Shop Trip to Dubuque last week was a huge success. It was awesome to get a guided tour of FDR Park and it’s always amazing to go back to IPP. Those trails never get old no matter how much you ride them. The weather was beautiful, the trails were rad, and the leaves are starting to change. It serves as a good reminder that the best few weeks of mountain biking weather are happening right NOW!!! Get out and ride!!! 🤘💨🍁 . #sugarbottombikes #dubuqueiowa #tmbrtrails by @sugar_bottom_bikes
Our Annual Fall 🍁 Classic Shop Day Ride is this Wednesday October 7th y’all! We will be closed all day as we head to Dubuque for a tour of FDR Park and Interstate Power Preserve Trails! Shout out to relocated IC rider and SBB Team Rider Ben Jansen for showing us around FDR! These are Dubuque’s OG trails and we are super excited to get a guided tour from a local! Stay tuned for a recap and in the meantime enjoy some pics from previous year’s shop day trips! . #sugarbottombikes #shopday by @sugar_bottom_bikes
We are incredibly excited to announce that Sugar Bottom Bikes is now an offical X-LAB dealer!!! . If you haven’t heard the buzz shaking up the cycling world lately, X-LAB is the premier performance brand backed by XDS—one of the largest, most advanced bicycle engineering ecosystems on the planet. X-LAB owns the factory, the distribution, and basically every element in the stack, allowing them so get bikes to bike shops like us for a price that is thousands less than what you would expect for bikes of this quality. . These bikes have been selling out nationwide all year and if you look at specs and prices you will see why! Swing by SBB this week, chat with our crew, and take one out for a test ride to see what the hype is about! . Picture above: . I’ve been riding past the new Iowa City Skatepark and Pump-Track almost every day since they started construction this Spring. All the rain has really slowed things down but the crew is hard at work every time I ride by! Here’s some videos of the progress. The majority of the skatepark side seems to be close to complete and they’ve got gravel and dirt hauled in to start working on the Pump-Track! . Here’s to hoping for a Late-Fall completion! This thing is a lot bigger than the initial mock ups suggest… the more they complete the more excited I get that it’s going to be a super cool park. . We are so excited we already have a fleet of BMX Bikes and Dirt Jumpers on our sales floor ready to rip this park once it’s finished! Come check out our selection from Sunday BMX, Fairdale, & Free Agent! . @bikeiowacity @icparksandrec #iowacityskatepark #skatepark #pumptrack by @sugar_bottom_bikes
Did you know that we deal in trade-ins and used bikes? That’s right, you can trade in your old bike for credit towards a new one, or you can pick up a sweet fully tuned and refurbished used bike that someone else traded in! . With the recent record setting rainfall we’ve had a bit of downtime to catch up on tuning up many of the traded in used bikes we’ve acquired during our busy season! . We’ve got tons of kids bikes and adult bikes starting at $75!!! . Stop in to see what we’ve got or check the Sale & Used Page of our website to see what we’ve got. We update the page frequently so check back often! (We also just put a bunch of NEW bikes on SALE too!) 😉 . #sugarbottombikes #usedbicycleshop #usedbicycles by @sugar_bottom_bikes
The area’s best tire wall just got even better! We now have the all new @silca_velo Protocol Gravel and Road Tires in stock to add to our already awesome tire selections! These tires are highly anticipated and we don’t expect them to last long. . These are extremely high performance tires engineered specifically around modern wide profile rims. Silca designed these tires by distilling cross country mountain bike tech into a lighter faster package for gravel riding. We have all models (RCG 1,3, and 4) in all three sizes (45, 50, and 55mm) as well as the new RCR road tires in 34mm and 40mm. . Don’t wait on these until next year…. If history repeats itself these tires will be nearly impossible to get come next year’s gravel season. . #sugarbottombikes #silcavelo #graveltires by @sugar_bottom_bikes
