#pollinatorsweater update: the amazing testers are working hard on this project, and I can’t help but reminisce on how good it felt to be done with this yoke. The flowers are embedded in a random order so chart repeats are not easy to memorize, and completing each round can feel like a big accomplishment. But just look, this finished product was so worth it! I remember how proud I felt to be through the chart! For those of you maybe seeing this for the first time, this is the Pollinator Sweater. It’s currently in testing, but should be published in late November of this year. It’s knit on @sugarplumcircus Charlotte Sport, a bouncy superwash yarn in Jensen’s amazing tonals.

✨ Our first Ren Faire!

I had a delightful time @therealmsunknown yesterday with my beautiful faerie friend, @heatherellisart !

This was the first Ren Faire for both of us, and we were so busy taking it all in, enjoying the lovely atmosphere, trading and gifting trinkets to the charming patrons, that I fell quite short on taking photos!

The craftsmanship and creativity was so inspiring! Really well done, all around! There were so many that I wish I had paused to take a photo of!

We’re already planning on attending next year!

I am so grateful for the interest in the POLLINATOR SWEATER! 🌺🐝

I can’t believe how many of you have reached out, applying to test, as well as sharing positive thoughts about the motif! And the colors that Jensen of @sugarplumcircus are absolutely spectacular! So vibrant!!

I have expanded the size range from 32” to 64” chest measurements, and hope this makes the design even more accessible to interested testers and future knitters!!

Chest sizes 32” through 55.7” are now filled, but there are a few sizes left to fill! The link to the tester application is in my bio.

Thanks again for all the love. I can’t wait to start this project and see what all the testers’ final color palettes are!

After over two years working on this design, I am excited to show the world my latest pattern: the POLLINATOR SWEATER! 🌺🐝✨ I am in need of testers, and there is a link in my bio to the tester application!

This design features rich tonals knit with @sugarplumcircus Charlotte Sport, a bouncy and incredibly soft merino base that was a dream to knit with! From now until the night of Sunday the 23rd, approved testers will be given a code to purchase yarn for this test at a 20% off discount!

This top-down seamless colorwork sweater is a pretty little ode to the little winged bugs that flutter around the clusters of wildflowers. Here in the PNW, it’s totally normal to want to wear bright colored sweaters that remind us of summer as we cozy indoors, knitting through the fall and winter. This sport-weight sweater is light enough to wear at the beach on those summer sunset evenings, while also brightening your winter day and keeping you cozy indoors.

I’d love to have two testers for each size. Please DM me with questions, if you have any. The application window closes once size spots are filled.

The testing period officially starts September 12th, to give testers time to gather their yarn and play with color palettes and swatches. The testing period ends on November 15th, for a total of 9 weeks. The pattern will be published the following weekend, so that interested knitters will have time to cast on before Thanksgiving break!

Interested testers should be familiar with stranded colorwork.
As a token of my gratitude, upon completion of the test, testers will receive a bonus coordinating beret hat pattern in the pollinator motif, intended to use up any scrap yarn you may have from this project, as well as another free pattern from any of my previous designs.

Anyone else like to make the same pattern more than once?

I’m on a “quest” to make handknit tops to go with skirts I have in my closet, and still had more skirts needing tops, so here we are!

I also like how this pattern is easy to modify into a cropped and fitted shape to go with my high-waisted skirts.

Took so long to take a WIP photo, she’s almost done! 😅

🧶 = Sugarplum Circus Charlotte Fingering in the Hosta colorway

Some minor mods:

Knit at a slightly looser gauge- Went up one needle size, and down one pattern size.

For both the neckband and sleeves, I picked up and knit one round, purled one round, then did the Lace BO purl-wise.

For the waist, I am just about ready to decrease quite a bit to pull it in, then I’ll do somewhere between 2-3 inches of 1x1 rib. by @sugarplumcircus

One of the things I love about making your own clothes is the ability to create something that coordinates perfectly with something else you have!

I knit this Gress top in my Heliotrope colorway to coordinate with this vintage skirt of mine, and I’m 😍!

Slightly modified by decreasing in the garter band sections after dividing for the sleeves to get a more tapered fit; before cropping it to the length I wanted to go with this skirt.

Modeled photos coming whenever that humidity level dips below 70%, and I simultaneously feel like doing my hair. 😅
