CREATIVE REGENERATION Artist Highlight: @suhanader

Suha Nader is a Lebanese actress and puppeteer who studied theatre at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University. She began her artistic journey in street theatre in 2008, exploring interactive performance and community-based theatre, before discovering her passion for puppetry. Since 2010, she has worked professionally as a puppeteer and joined Les Amis des Marionnettes as a lead puppeteer, developing extensive expertise in both performance and visual storytelling. Inspired by the work of Augusto Boal, co-founder of the Theatre of the Oppressed, Suha co-founded the theatre troupe Kawalis, which uses theatre as a tool to challenge social stigmas and taboos. Through performances and awareness campaigns across Lebanon, she has addressed sensitive issues such as harassment, rape, and domestic violence, using art to encourage dialogue and social change. With over 18 years of experience in theatre, Suha has performed in numerous Lebanese, Arab, and international productions. 2022-24, Suha performed in Cabaret Migrant by Collectif Kahraba, directed by Éric Deniaud, which toured France and Lebanon, with performances at notable venues including Le Manège – Scène Nationale de Reims, Tandem – Scène Nationale d’Arras, and Cirque Jules Verne in Amiens. Most recently, in 2026, Suha worked as a puppeteer in 215, a shadow-puppet and storytelling performance based on testimonies of detainees in Syrian prisons, written and directed by @dimanashawi. Also in 2026, she wrote and directed Face to Face, a theatre production created for the students of Ciela Academy, further expanding her artistic practice into directing and mentorship.

تَكْمنُ المقاومةُ في التفاصيل... في الانغماسِ في العمل على إيقاع الزنزانة، وأصواتِ قصف الضاحية...
في الشغفِ المشترك بفكرةٍ، وإيقاعِ تجسيدها الصاعدِ الهابط...
في التشبثِ بالحلم، بالرغم من ارتفاع أصوات اليأس، مؤكِّدةً أن العالم اليوم ليس مكانًا للأحلام.

تَكْمنُ المقاومةُ في الحب... في الاستمرار... في العيش.

سهى نادر ممثلة لبنانية، حائزة على إجازة في التمثيل والإخراج من الجامعة اللبنانية، وشاركت في العديد من ورش العمل المتخصصة في الفنون المسرحية.

بدأت مسيرتها الفنية في مسرح الشارع عام 2008، ثم انخرطت في مسرح الدمى منذ عام 2010 وعملت مع أصدقاء الدمى حتى العام 2020 كممثلة، محركة دمى ومدربة.

شاركت سهى في عدد من الأعمال المسرحية العربية والعالمية، من أبرزها:

«الست نجاح والمفتاح» (إخراج عايدة صبرا، 2016).

«حرب طروادة» (إخراج روجيه عساف، 2017).

«الاعتراف» (إخراج عبد الله الكفري، 2018).

«Blood Zero» (إخراج دويل أفينت، 2020)

«كباريه المهاجر»، (لمجموعة كهربا، إخراج إريك دونيو، 2022)

«منتهى اللعب» (إخراج سارة الزين، 2023)

سهى مدربة على التمثيل ومسرح الدمى وخيال الظل. تعنى بالمجال التربوي أيضاً وقد دربت مجموعات من الأطفال في جمعيات مختلفة منها BeMA وCiela Academy.

Suha Nader is a Lebanese actress holding a degree in Acting and Directing from the Lebanese University. She participated in numerous specialized workshops in theatre and performing arts.

She began her artistic career in street theatre in 2008, then became involved in puppetry in 2010. From 2010 to 2020, she worked with “Les Amis des Marionnettes” as an actress, puppeteer, and trainer.

Suha has participated in numerous local, Arab and international creations including:

Al-Set Najah (directed by Aida Sabra, 2016)
The Trojan War (directed by Roger Assaf, 2017)
The Confession (directed by Abdullah Al Kafri, 2018)
Blood Zero (directed by Doyle Evant, 2020)

Students from École Saint Maroun – Bauchriyeh spent the day at Villa Audi exploring drawing through observation and collaboration.

BeMA was especially happy to welcome students from the school’s special needs program, alongside children of different ages and classes. The workshop offered a gentle, supportive space where every student participated at his or her own pace, expressing themselves freely.

Guided by puppeteers Fadia Tannir and Suha Nader, students created drawings inspired by the exhibition currently on view, turning what they observed into personal visual stories.

Just as Zig Zag ZOOM takes inspiration from the work of Helen Khal, these new creations show how art can open fresh perspectives and meaningful connections. Each drawing is a reminder that art is not only observed, but experienced, reinterpreted, and appropriated.

At BeMA, we are committed to making art spaces accessible and welcoming to all audiences. Through encounters with exhibitions and artists, students are invited to see themselves as part of an ongoing cultural story.

أمضى تلامذة مدرسة مار مارون – بوشرية يوماً في فيلا عودي، حيث استكشفوا الرسم من خلال الملاحظة، الخيال، والعمل الجماعي.
شارك في الورشة تلامذة من مختلف الأعمار، إلى جانب طلاب يشاركون في البرنامج الداعم داخل المدرسة، ضمن مساحة هادئة ومشجّعة أتاحت لكل طفل أن يعبّر عن نفسه بطريقته الخاصة. وبإشراف الفنانتين وصانعتَي الدمى فاديا تنير وسهى نادر، أنجز التلامذة رسوماً مستوحاة من المعرض المقام حالياً، حوّلوا فيها ما شاهدوه إلى حكايات بصرية شخصية.

وكما أنّ زيك زاك زووم مستلهم من أعمال هلِن الخال، تُظهر هذه الإبداعات الجديدة كيف يمكن للفن أن يفتح آفاقًا مختلفة ويخلق روابط ذات معنى. وتذكّرنا كل رسمة بأنّ الفن لا يُكتفى بمشاهدته، بل يُعاش ويُعاد تأويله ويصبح جزءًا من تجربة كل فرد.

في بما، نلتزم بجعل المساحات الفنية متاحة ومرحّبة بجميع المتعلّمين. ومن خلال اللقاءات مع المعارض والفنانين، يُدعى الطلاب إلى رؤية أنفسهم جزءًا من حكاية ثقافية مستمرة. by @suhanader
