*What my clients see* - a beautiful vista of waves crashing on steep cliffsides beside a quiet, cozy town 🌄

*What I see* - 10 adults, 2 children, 16 days, 28 bookings, 2 countries, 6 hotels, one solar eclipse...

It might sound chaotic, but this sort of puzzle is where I thrive!

EXHIBIT A: One of my favorite keepsake items from early elementary school is a full plan for an imaginary hotel I hyper-fixated on for a few weeks. I'm talking floorplans, decorations, and an extensive inventory (100 king beds, 1000 tissue boxes, 10 suites, 500 large couches, 2 reception desks...I had pages and pages of notes). This was not a school project - it was just my preferred way to spend my free time as an 8-year-old.

Suffice it to say that I've always loved planning. Being detail-oriented is my default mode.

Nowadays, I get to flex my logistics-coordination muscles by designing one-of-a-kind adventures for my clients. My goal is to handle the stressful bits and give each traveler peace of mind that I've got everything handled. They get to just focus on deciding what to order at that special restaurant on their itinerary and figuring out how they're going to save enough luggage room for souvenirs.

Lately, I’ve been deep in the trenches of planning a very special 2026 adventure for a family group. I've been coordinating over 34 bookings, two different countries (Iceland & Scotland!), and a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse event.

We started planning in December 2024. It’s taken dozens and dozens of hours of vetting, timing checks, and vendor coordination to get here. That’s part of what I love about this job, not the destination photos themselves, but building the invisible architecture that makes the photos possible.

Suitcase Sails (my travel planning side) has been busy, but I haven’t been shouting about it because often, the best work happens in the background.

🎃 Halloween night calls for something spooky! 🎃

I joined @usghostadv on their Gangsters, Glitz, and Gore Las Vegas Ghost Tour to uncover haunted casinos, mob legends, and mysterious sightings along the Strip. From ghostly whispers to true stories of Sin City’s darker past, this tour proved Vegas nightlife isn’t just about bright lights.

This weekend, I’m celebrating my birthday with my sister and husband on a Ghost Tour through some of the city’s spookiest spots (courtesy of our generous hosts @usghostadv 👻). I’ll be sharing a blog post about the experience soon — and yes, there may be photos of me clutching a flashlight dramatically.

Between growing my travel planning work and restoring our sailboat (Sylphrena, if you’re new here ⚓), life has been full of projects that all circle back to one thing: creating meaningful journeys — on land and at sea.

This tour is the start of a new season for me — more stories, more travel, and more behind-the-scenes peeks into both the adventures I plan and the ones I take myself.

Happy #worldtourismday from your favorite Hoosier travel advisor!

I haven’t posted much here since I started shifting from travel blogging to travel planning, but I’ve had the joy and honor to plan a lot of trips for loved ones and new clients over the past few years. Honeymoons, family vacations, girls trips, and of course, lots of travel for me and my travel buddies!

“It feels like a dream just became possible,” was something I heard on a recent call where I shared a proposal for a mother & son trip to Norway, a place that the son had been been saving for since he got the travel bug several years ago.

Hearing that from a client perfectly encapsulates why I love to do this work. Travel is such a transformative, eye-opening, incredible experience in my life and I know a lot of you can relate! Sometimes the planning is overwhelming, time consuming, or just downright unenjoyable for people though, and that’s where I come in. I love talking to someone and finding a way to make the impossible possible, and being there along the entire way from daydreaming to departure.

This is a thank you to all everyone who has trusted me with your vacation, a thank you to all the travel operators and tour guides and experience providers who have changed my life, and a celebration of all that magic on World Tourism Day.

The Gorge was the coolest venue I’ve ever been to and I can’t recommend it enough! Highly suggest renting an RV, corralling your pals, and having a goofy, silly time.

The solar eclipse was one of the coolest natural phenomena I’ve seen. Not often that Indianapolis is host to an event like this so it was amazing to be out in a public park and see if full of other Hoosiers enjoying mother nature’s spectacles 🌖
