SuKha Never Dies, a Bengali artist collaborated with Japanese producer Aru Motoki to present “Really Me”. Critiquing state surveillance and surveillance from communities we belong to, this song inspires all to find one’s own path. The vision was brought to life by Taiwanese videographer Yuji Fann. Yuji used ravens as a themes drawing inspiration from his favourite (Japanese) photographer Masahisa Fukase’s photobook series “Ravens” exploring the feelings of isolation, loss and emotional turmoil — aligning with how one can feel when their communities or cultures reject those who are “really” being “themselves(me)”. Fun fact, the staircase in Tokyo’s Golden Gai, where Masahisa Fukase had a tragic fall leading to 20 years of coma, was one of locations in the video as an homage. Shot back in Summer of 2019 in London 🇬🇧. SuKha Never Dies’ voice is powerful when screaming “NEVER FIGHT A BITCH IT’S A SISTERHOOD WE AIN’T NEVER GONNA SNITCH” in critique of people who deny allyship and choose to monitor, control, betray or “snitch” to keep people silenced or forced to conform. The music video is officially here and on YouTube! Listen on all music platforms. 🎧 My first song, “goddess”, written back in 2018! This music video is so special as it was shot by the multi-talented Peter Michaels @hbmedia021 during my trip to Cape Town, South Africa back in 2019! This song is drenched with my emotions about being born in Saudi as a 2nd class citizen of Bangladeshi descent. It’s a poetic take on the politics of being a “woman”… the rest is for your interpretation. This is my way of protesting for a more beautiful word with more understanding, no unnecessary bloodshed, headaches and pain. Just a perspective !!! For westerners— you can just go back to your « developed » country and act like Japan was an adventure and “what a crazy thing I did” … while for non western people it’s a matter of having a chance at a better life. by @sukhaneverdies

I LOVE MY STYLE 🌟 自分のスタイルが好き！！！ありがと @chiocame と @aki.punk I made a video about how people automatically assume who my parents are before I ever get a chance to introduce them. For example, ppl automatically assume how my parents look like, what their values are and how they treat me —simply because of the stereotypes regarding brown Muslim people or women in particular . Just recently, I was having a casual conversation with a stranger (who’s never met my parents, don’t know what they look like) — telling them about how my dad was experimenting with a big beard. And they replied saying “oh like Osama Bin Laden” 🫥… 🫥… anyways it’s not that deep and I laughed it off but I understand very well what narrative people want out of me as an artist who dresses like this… OUTFIT DETAILS: (1) made the skirt of our discarded kimono and obi fabric, sorry is reversible refer to previous video posted. (2)my scarf style using very puffy / textured polyester cotton blend Material— developed from when I USED to veil for religious purpose also known as “wearing a hijab”, now I don’t consider it “hijab” anymore, rather my own unique style that is NOT a cosplay but a reflection of my personal style.(3)the hair pins are called KANZASHI, Japanese style hair pins(4) earrings and nose pins are Bengali // Nepali(5) shoes are THRIFTED POCCURI GETA by @sukhaneverdies

I have made the conscious decision to speak more openly about my past and current life because I want to have more control in how people interpret me. Due to the dominant stereotypes and stories made about people who look like me, I am left with the burden of trying to explain who I am apart from the noise. 🎀💖 I love hanging out with my friends @chiocame and @aki.punk !! I used to live in Hyogo when I first moved to Japan two years ago… and I became friends with Chio at a girls day festival with her cute daughter! You guys are the best! 友達の @chiocame や @aki.punk と過ごす時間が大好き！日本に来た2年前は兵庫に住んでいたんだけど、そこで「ひな祭り」のイベントに参加した際、Chioと彼女の可愛い娘さんに出会って仲良くなったの。みんな最高！The skirt is my design. It’s actually reversible. You’ve probably seen the other side in some earlier posts. Upcycled from trashed kimono fabric 🎀 wearing a separate Yukata’s (summer kimono) top piece with poccuri geta (shoes). My scarves are my own style, it is not from Bengali culture or representative of Islam. The ties on my scarves are used for tying nagajuban and kimono in together when wearing them but I wore them as robins. Styled my scarf with thrifted Kanzashi (Japanese hairpins).このスカートは私がデザインしたもので、実はリバーシブル仕様。以前の投稿でも、もう片方の面を見かけたことがあるかもしれません。着物の生地をアップサイクルして作ったものです🎀 浴衣の上衣（セパレートタイプ）と「ぽっくり下駄」を合わせています。スカーフの使い方は私独自のスタイルで、ベンガル文化やイスラム教を象徴するものではありません。このスカーフに使っている紐は、本来なら長襦袢と着物を固定するためのものですが、私はリボンとして結んでみました。かんざしを合わせてスタイリングしています。 by @sukhaneverdies

The time and energy that it takes to create something will inevitably help you grow. I think this is why many relationship breakups hurt a lot because you put in so much of your energy and time that you can never take back —-essentially, that is the same idea with creativity you have to put in your life force into it, just like you do with love. First time, someone wore a Tanmono worn as a Sari(Sharee). 初めて、反物をサリーとして身にまとう人がいました。They don’t call SuKha Never Dies a fashion icon for no reason. Part of a performance and collection, seen at Tokyo’s @cinettica_fashion_festival . Sari is not a dress, it’s actually a 5.5 (6yd) meter fabric, around 1-1.2 (1.5yd) meter wide. Sari is wrapped in many different ways, based on regional style preferences in South Asia. Tanmono are fabrics rolls specifically made to create kimono, so the average width is 36-38cm (14”/15”).サリーは「ドレス」ではなく、実際には幅約1〜1.2メートル、長さ5.5メートル（6ヤード）の布地です。南アジアでは、地域ごとのスタイルの好みに応じて、さまざまな方法でサリーが体に巻き付けられます。@thrndmchrs 📸🎞️ by @sukhaneverdies

In my pursuit of finding “love” , “ a place to belong and be adored”, and “financial independence “, I’ve quite ironically isolated myself. My accomplishments feel untouched, but thank you to those who see me and believe in me and send me their wisdom/ kind words. Past few months, I moved twice within Japan, got new visa, designed new pieces, did my first Japan performance (my music is in bio/pinned on my page), and later did my own fashion show featuring a varied collection of mine. Some times I feel that I got a late start in life… no one taught me anything… ppl only ask my how and why I have what I have? , I feel doubtful about who will ever love me, accept me and even, who will pay me! I know this life is temporary and God knows best, but I swear you can feel this too, this boiling energy within ME which is explosively creative. I do not fear failure… bc prodigious process, mind on a scale of no loses. Meaning, life is not about the fame, money or title, I don’t feel the “loss” when my energy and conscience is my reality.
