Congratulations to everyone who made the SAFEnergy Community Project a remarkable success!

My heartfelt gratitude goes to our sponsors, @dean_initiative @DEAN Initiative and African Climate Fellows, for believing in our vision and supporting this impactful community initiative.

A special thank you to our dedicated facilitators, organizers, media team, volunteers, partners, and every participant whose commitment and enthusiasm made these two days truly memorable.

Together, we have taken meaningful steps toward promoting sustainable energy solutions, reducing environmental degradation, and empowering communities with practical skills for a greener future.

This is just the beginning. Together, we can continue building resilient communities and protecting the Lake Chad Basin for generations to come.

Thank you all for making SAFEnergy a success! 💚🌍

For many women, firewood and charcoal remain essential cooking fuels. But we can create better alternatives.

Through SAFEnergy, we promote agricultural-waste briquettes as a cleaner energy option while creating livelihoods for women and youth.

Waste can become energy, women can drive the transition.

How do we navigate Nigeria’s climate policy architecture and turn policy into action at the community level.

During the discussion, Dr. Kenneth Akpan emphasised the need for Nigeria to transition towards just energy, an energy transition that is inclusive, sustainable and leaves no community behind.

This got us thinking: What climate-smart project can we implement in Biu, Borno State, that directly aligns with Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and other national climate policies?

From renewable energy and clean cooking to waste management, climate-smart agriculture and community resilience, the opportunities are enormous.

The question is no longer “What can we do?” but “How can we ensure what we contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s climate commitments, Become a Climate Entrepreneur today.
