My sweet brother.
Just 12 hours ago we were talking about how hard losing Riley was on us and everybody else close to us;
Now you’re gone too - God called you home.
When it’s your time, it’s your time.
You had a fire in your heart lil bro that you weren’t about to let anybody extinguish; when you did something you did it to the max or didn’t do it at all.
The day Riley passed I followed you home so you could get your bike, met your parents and we talked about how dangerous these bikes are.
This wasn’t your fault brother.
I’m going to miss you for the rest of my life, I’ll always miss crashin out over dumb things that happened to us, talking about whatever’s going on in our lives…
You take care of Riley up there for us, say hey to Jay for us while you’re at it.
Love you brother, I’ll miss you forever. by @sullivan_wheeler

To myself, the photographer; Never would I have thought that the moments I’d be capturing would have been used in articles about the loss of one’s life, the loss of a son, brother, boyfriend…
I wanted to capture moments of us in our brightest, and that I did. I’m sorry this is how they’re remembered.

To your Mother
Momma bear, stay strong, this is your baby; nothing I can say is going to ease the pain of the loss you are going through. Just know your child brought the rest of us happiness. Dathan was somebody I was proud to be around. I can’t tell you how many times he’d cheer me up when I was going through some shit. He was always the first to check up on me, always had a smile on his face that could’ve illuminated even the darkest of places.
Drive his car with the fire you gave him in his soul.
Beat the shit out of it, he’d want it. We will be there to fix it when it breaks.

To your Father
We met the day of Riley’s passing.
Stay strong, be the rock for your family, as you have been before. To grieve is to appreciate.
We are here for you for when you have no one else to go too. I hope you know the man you raised influenced us in the best ways possible. You raised one hell of a man.
Be proud, be loud, never let them forget his name.
The speech you gave him shook the entire planet,
I don’t think I’ll ever hear something as profound as the words that you spoke that night.

To you, Dathan.
You’d slap me across the face and tell me to get a grip if you saw me right now.
Dathan you were not just a friend, you were a brother.
We didn’t share the same blood, but we were brothers.
You were there for me when nobody else was; when I had nowhere to go, you were there.
To my Brother that wasn’t blood: Thank you for letting me be apart of your legacy. Thank you for letting me capture the moments you had. I’m sorry we didn’t get to make those videos you wanted to make.
Thank you for sitting there during my heartbreak watching Narnia with me. That meant more than you would’ve ever thought, I think you actually kinda got it into those movies.

“You’ll come back, when it’s over. No need to say goodbye.”

I’ll see you there soon brother, I love you and miss you. LLD by @sullivan_wheeler
