Tawakkul is often spoken about, but rarely explained in a way that meets real life. These are the truths that reshaped how I rely on Allah while navigating uncertainty, grief, waiting, and responsibility.

1. Tawakkul is not passivity. It is preparation + surrender.
Real tawakkul is doing everything within your capacity, then releasing attachment to the outcome. You tie the camel, then trust Allah. Faith is active, not avoidant.

2. Allah’s timing will frustrate your logic, and that is intentional. Delays, closed doors, and changes in direction are not punishments. They are part of a plan you cannot yet see. What feels like rejection is often redirection. The wait is never wasted when Allah is writing the story.

3. Tawakkul requires you to grieve what you wanted.
Trusting Allah does not mean pretending you are unaffected. You are allowed to feel disappointment and sadness. Tawakkul is not toxic positivity. It is trusting Allah while honouring your emotions, not bypassing them.

4. You can have tawakkul and still make duaa urgently.
The Prophet ﷺ had complete reliance on Allah and still asked with intensity. Longing is not a lack of faith. Ask boldly, want deeply, and surrender the outcome.

5. Tawakkul is not a one-time decision. It is a daily return.
Some days trust comes easily. Other days it feels like a struggle. That does not mean you are failing. Tawakkul is choosing trust again and again, especially when it is hard.

If you are showing up despite fear, uncertainty, or disappointment, you are practising tawakkul.

I’m happy to announce that I’m finally launching my coaching services! This has been something I’ve been sitting on for more than 3 years now, and it’s finally time to bring it out and start making more of an impact in the community. From the age of 13, I knew I always had wisdom beyond my years. I’ve always wanted to be a person of impact and through the things I do, I constantly prove this to be possible. I have been building my portfolio of speaking, supporting people and making a positive impact from age 15 and through educating myself, getting my qualifications and growing in my expertise, I now know this is the time to share this knowledge with others.

I have a few services that I offer, from my 1:1 coaching in various areas, BBB 3 month group coaching ( read more in my bio). To delivering workshops and 1:1 coaching for aspiring Psychological Well-being Practitioners, to hosting & planning events and more.

I think when the word multifaceted was created, they had me in mind😅.

I have a free webinar I’m doing on the 14th of June which be all about self-development and unlocking a new version of you, you can sign up on Eventbrite.

I then start my first workshop series on the 23rd of June which is all about learning how to start your journey towards becoming a PWP and how to excel in the role. You can book this on Eventbrite (link in bio).

Alhamdulilah x100, Allah’s invitation arrived and we answered. This experience can only be described by those that have lived it, seeing the Kaaba for the first time, completing umrah twice (second for my late brother Mafou), completing our umrah baby free with the help of my sister and friend @hangingwithhamidah then doing tawaaf with our baby, Alhamdulilah. Which of the favours of our lord can we deny? This time last year, our baby was in NICU fighting for his life and this year Allah called us to his home to praise Him, extend our gratitude and exalt His name. Alhamdulillah.

Indeed within hardship there is ease, there are certain chapters in your life that can only ever be divinely orchestrated. If anyone told me that this year I would be doing umrah with my family, I would say no. However, Allah invites whom He wills and His timing is the best.

We don’t have it all, we are not perfect but Allah is and He has it in abundance. Last year, I was able to gift my mum a trip to umrah not knowing that this year Allah would invite us as well. These past 2 years have been challenging but Alhamdulilah always, at the beginning of the year, I said I wanted to gift my husband something special for his 30th and for some reason Allah put umrah on my heart. I didn’t know how I was going to do it, considering I’ve been on maternity leave and I wasn’t sure if it was the right time for many reasons.

However, one thing I’ve learned is that everything starts with intentions and Allah perfects the rest if there is khair in it for you. Nothing is too difficult for Him, He says “Be and it is”. So, Alhamdulilah He made it possible and I’m grateful, yet again I am filled with a heart that is content with the decree of Allah.

I cannot brag about my love for Allah because I fail Him daily but I can definitely brag about His love for me because time and time again He has carried me and has never failed me. Alhamdulillah.

To anyone carrying a heavy season right now, Allah has not forgotten you nor has He forsaken you. Trust Him and He will consistently show up for you.

May Allah accept our umrah, our acts of ibadah & continuously invite us again and again. Ameen❤️ by @sumahx_

My baby Jamil turned 1 last week Alhamdulilah🥹 from a tiny preemie baby that spent 68 Days in NICU to a beautiful, smart, thriving boy Allahumma Barik. I was going to do nothing for the day for many reasons but then I realised that I’m not only celebrating this new age & beautiful milestone but I’m also celebrating a year of motherhood, a challenging year filled with twists and turns, a year only Allah could have written, a testing year, a year where I’ve learned so much about myself, a year where my amazing community really held me down. A year where a little human has been in my care by the will of Allah and now calls me mama - Alhamdulilah🥹.

Jamil is truly a reflection of his name - beauty. Anyone that has spent time with him will know that he’s truly special. He has shown me how Allah embeds his beauty in everything. In the hardship and the ease there is beauty, mercy and always hope. He’s taught me to slow down, be present, enjoy the moment and embrace this beautiful challenge called motherhood, the toughest hood out there!😅

So, as my boy has turned 1, I pray that Allah swt continues to bless him and allows him to be a beacon of light wherever he goes, may his life reflect Allah’s beauty, love, abundance and mercy. May he be among those that have Imaan that is unwavering, among the righteous and those most beloved to Allah. Ameen.

I also want to say a special thank you to my people, I could not have gone through this year without you! There’s too much to say but I’ll keep it short - I’m grateful and I love you all! Those in the pictures & not💛

Eid Mubarak everyone! Arafah day in the UK was HOT yesterday but also a beautiful reminder to continuously seek Allah’s mercy & a taster of what the pilgrims experienced🥹. May Allah accept all our duaas, acts of ibadah and the hajj of all the pilgrims. Ameen.

P.S: For the first time in many years, a tailor has disappointed me and not finished my outfit on time but my mum said I didn’t remind him enough👀 now I’ve learned to stay on their necks lmao🤣. Luckily I managed to get this beautiful abaya and matched with my baby so we move and we slay regardless 🥰. I hope everyone has an amazing day!💗💗💗 by @sumahx_
