I’ve been sitting with this race for a week, and I finally feel ready to put it into words. My second marathon, and for months my heart was set on one thing: going sub-3.

This training cycle asked more of me than I’ve ever given physically, mentally, and emotionally. There were highs where I felt strong, and lows where I questioned everything. But I kept showing up.

Training with my team @blacksub3 meant everything.
@dreambig_davies and Demi, you guys were a huge part of this journey. Those miles and conversations carried me more than you know.

@bap_esq @runwithme_coachp @vbgrounded we built something real even before race weekend. It showed me how powerful a team can be. And my people. @enayena3 @duha_n_mohamed @cin_vu @yvonneidro @kiumbi and Clarissa, you guys reminded me who I am when I needed it most. Having y’all by my side means the world.

Coach @taut_7 thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and giving me the confidence to show up ready. And my mom, my superwoman, always calling me mid runs, “didn’t you just run 10+ miles yesterday?” And staying on the phone when things got hard. I love you ALWAYS.

As race day got closer, things shifted. Taper week was definitely my lowest. My calf started hurting, every step felt off, and after months of working so hard, it was frustrating. When race day came. It was unreal. 10,000+ people all choosing to do something hard, because if marathons were easy, everyone would do them. Shoutout to @_1king_lu you paced the whole squad so well and made the experience even better. I can’t wait to run it back with you.

Around mile 22, everything took a turn. Cramps hit hard, and I wanted to stop so badly but I kept going. @taut_7 @_raquel_noemi_ @ranch1e @taylorrjay being on the phone with y’all carried me through those last miles.

Not every race is about the goal you set. This one taught me resilience, patience, and that growth doesn’t always look the way you expect. Not a sub-3, but a PR! I’m walking away grateful for every mile and for a body that allows me to do this. 💙
