Layla had been with me since 2023 and today she passed away. She didn’t have an easy life, but she was always sweet and gentle. Pets passing away is so tough especially when they’re as sweet as Layla. I really thought you would be with us longer. We love you and miss you Layla. by @sumiitsuko

As 2025 comes to an end, I would like to write about how this year has impacted me. 💝🦋

At the beginning of this year, I had achieved things I thought were significant but turned out to be a lie. Looking back, I constantly lied to myself about what I truly wanted. The majority of this year I was plagued with anxiety about not living for myself, grief, and loss. I experienced many changes in all parts of my life, good and bad. Going through a certain loss this year helped me see how important it is for me to stand up and fight for myself. I was a major pushover, and this was something I worked really hard to improve on.

I was able to push through because of the people I’ve connected with this year. It helped me so much being around people who had passion, dreams, hope, and most of all, the ability to love and accept. Everyone I’ve met this year inspired me to not only get myself out of a shitty situation but to also want more for myself. I went after so many opportunities that I ended up having success with just because I was able to put myself out there, to be perceived.

Going back to school in fall gave me a sense of ambition and confidence that I can achieve what I want for myself if I just try and believe that I am good enough. I am proud to say that I’ve come far from the overtly anxious, pessimistic person I had been because I let all my problems and fears control and suffocate the life out of me.

With the upcoming new year, I only hope to continue doing what I can to elevate my life. I hope to have continuous blessings and to have abundance in every part of my life. I hope to be as optimistic as I can be while being realistic and not forcing myself to be okay and sitting in the feeling until I am ready to rise above the occasion. I want to continue practicing gratitude regardless of my struggles because I truly believe there is more good to life than bad. Thank you so much if you read this far!

I hope the best New Year’s for everyone! Thank you for being a witness to how much I have changed since the start of 2025. Luv ya! 𓂃࣪ ִֶָ🪽་༘࿐₊˚⊹♡ by @sumiitsuko

Every day, I am constantly reminded that I am loved and supported because of the same people that have made me feel loved ever since I came to the states. The same people who saw me at 12, barely knowing English. The same people that supported me when I made the biggest transition in life when I was 18. The same people who didn’t judge me or turn their backs on me when I was 22 doing all the crazy shit one can’t even imagine. The same people that are still here now that I am 24. Even though we don’t speak as much anymore or see each other as much anymore, we know that we are bonded through life as sisters. I am eternally grateful that I will never have to feel like I am alone because my friends are just one call away. That makes me so lucky. 😇💝 by @sumiitsuko
