PLEASE DONT SCROLL!!!
Yesterday I went to Fleamasters Flea market in Fort Myers, fl. I went into a pet store called ANIMAL JUNGLE PET STORE. The conditions and treatment of these animals is absolutely disgusting. I’ve filed a police report on animal abuse and an investigation is open, however, police are notorious for not doing anything in these situations. I’ve included pictures and videos of these animals.
The baby bird I have a close up video of had not moved or shown any signs of breathing or life for the 30 minutes we were there. All of the babies are piling up because they have no other source of heat. The baby quakers are begging for food.
The lorikeet I showed has receding feathers around its head and buildup of fluids on its nostrils, a CLEAR SIGN of a severe respiratory infection. You can see the horrible conditions of the enclosures, specifically demonstrated by the video of the ferret’s enclosure.
The shop owner tried to handle an Amazon parrot and it was terrified of her, trying to fly away, biting her, etc. every bird had clipped wings. The size of their cages were about a half foot by half foot cube.
Awareness needs to be brought to this and if the police don’t do anything, the people need to.
This is a DISGUSTING Display of poaching, animal abuse and neglect. We can not let this continue to happen. taken in Fleamasters Flea Market & Grand Pavilion by @summer.fallsoff
