“things coming to an end?”
☁️🌀
a phrase for keikos class! and for my classmates and friends and the sun that shines through the studio window and all the kind eyes and gentle smiles!

it was a humid ahh day… it felt like spring! fan on, sticky floor. my achilles and hip flexors taut. snd still not able to get off the floor for inversions.
i like how my mvmt goes from clear and controlled into messiness, a visual materialization of how much time and thought i spent through this phrase from start to finish. i like how i rushed bc its a nice reminder to slow down and take my time. even though things are coming to an end(a ? bc is it rly?) there is still time! i wish some things never end but ig the time limit makes it feel more precious and forces me to notice beautiful things. it’s such a privilege to be dancing with u all everyday and oh we are almost half way done! by @summer.xcc

Introducing our executive team: Summer!!!
☀️☀️☀️
“With its vast variety of styles and storytelling, I believe everyone will be able to enjoy and find out something new about themselves in Chinese dance.” - 🧌Sumsum Chu

Summer Chu (She/They) is currently a second year student studying at York University, where her dance identity is informed by their experience in Chinese dance, street dance, and modern/contemporary dance forms. They are a Beijing Dance Academy Curriculum certified teacher, and has been teaching Chinese dance for 5+ years. Summer have recently completed the Xunli and Character Development training programs, which furthered her perspectives and understanding of Classical Chinese dance. Chinese dance has been an important portion of her immigrant experience in Canada, helping her find belonging and express identity.
