Just finished our final week! We traveled 776.8 miles by bike, and climbed 22,184 ft. Extremely grateful to have had this experience for our first touring adventure. The castles along the Rhine were legendary & Amsterdam’s bike paths and museums were next level.

Bikes packed weight - mine 45-50 pounds, Jake’s 60-70 pounds 🎒

We only got komooted a couple times. 👏 by @summer_rider_

Some more Euro Trek days 🚲: Took a rest day in Breisach & met a man who had both a very cool mustache and spectacular hotel perched on the hillside. Found ourselves next to a canal lined with magnificent trees in France that took us all the way to Kilstett. Rode some highways in a brief rain and had no clue how we’d make it 70 miles. Pure grit and delusion carried us to Speyer, inspirational. Found ourselves in a sea of cornfields and headwinds, but sprinkle in some vineyards. I think we’re back to the Rhine? Fingers crossed the headwinds are behind us.

Days 9-12 Euro Bike Trek 🚲
Two 50s, a 45, and a 64 miler.

Cycled around and stayed at Lake Weesen, one of the most stunning lakes I’ve ever seen. Jakes bag broke in the lobby and is now being held together with a string. We exited the mountains and found ourselves trying to navigate through a chaotically beautiful Zurich which was a lot of Jake yelling “on me!!” as we raced through crazy intersections. Our mission became make it to EV 15. Jake broke his glasses and has to ride with his eyes closed sometimes to get through the bug sheets. We watched the sunrise looking out over the Rhine in a very cool town, Bad Säckingen. by @summer_rider_

Days 6-8 of Euro Bike tour have been a wild adventure.

We got hit with a rain/ thunderstorm with threat to life warning. Had to take a short train to stay on track. Practically got blown over in the craziest wind but the lakes were marvelous. Made it to Austria, Nauders was like a magical fairytale. Went up a mountain bike trail and almost cried. Nearly burned out the brakes on the longest descent of my life. Went through a pitch black tunnel with no light, some strong words were used. Thankful for Jakes pep talks and the views that just seem to get better. In Switzerland now and already in love. Being on bikes has allowed us to explore so many small towns, maybe my favorite mode of transport now🫶🏻🚲 by @summer_rider_

Euro Bike Tour day 3-5 🚴‍♀️

Day 3: Rest day in Levico Terme. A head cold took me out so we rested here. The hotel packed us sandwiches for our early morning ride, hospitality unmatched.

Day 4: Levico Terme to Ora. Riding stats: 40.0 miles, climbing 1660ft, bug bites: 15. Things were off to a rocky start when I thought dogs were chasing us up our first climb. Turns out it was just a pound. Ora turned out to be a must see.

Day 5: Ora to Laces. Riding stats: 45.32 miles, climbing 1814 ft, times I tried and failed to catch up to an elderly couple out for their daily cruise: 2. After a flat start I thought it was an easyyy day. But the climb came in hot and I had to walk my bike for the first time. We still made it with sunlight to spare! by @summer_rider_

Europe tour 2026 Day 0-2 🚲:

Day 0: The bikes made it to Venice fully intact! We made it to Venice mostly intact!

Day 1: Venice to Bassano del Grappa:
Riding stats 45.66 miles, accent 696 ft, peak temp 91 degrees F, roundabout count: 36, popsicle count: 6. Riding out of Venice was terrifying.

Day 2: Bassano del Grappa to Caldonazzo:
Riding stats 50.22 miles, accent 2,320 ft, peak temp 89 degrees F, “that’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen”: 62, popsicle count 0, lost it a little there towards the end. by @summer_rider_

6 years married, nearly 12 together.

What have I learned? You’re the coolest person I know and you keep getting cooler. Being your teammate in life is my favorite thing ever. Life is fun and hard, I like both with you by my side. From biking Jake to ultra marathon Jake to uncle Jake, they are all my favorite. Ok that’s a satisfactory amount of cheese for one sitting, love you ❤️ @jacoby_rider by @summer_rider_
