Our core Mountain Leader @sameed.asghar grew up in one of the roughest parts of Birmingham and did not have the opportunity to explore the outdoors until he started working. Also, being South Asian, the outdoors isn’t something embedded in his culture, and he didn’t really know how and where to explore when he first got started. I'm sure many of you have also faced challenges/barriers in this respect.

Summit Special has allowed him to bring more people, particularly from underrepresented communities, to our beautiful countryside.

The outdoors should be for everyone, but not everyone has equal access to it. @teambmc recent survey highlights disparities in access to outdoor spaces and the urgent need to break down barriers. Women, low-income households, and underrepresented communities face the most challenges.

Team Summit Special would love your thoughts and especially from those who have faced barriers to exploring the great outdoors ⛰️ 🏔. Let me know in the comments what barriers you've faced?

Watch and share this video to help raise awareness and champion an outdoors that’s a more accessible space, to be enjoyed by everyone.

Alhamdulillah! 🤲🤩

A huge Jzk Khayran to everyone who joined or supported us in any way as we climbed the famous Pen-y-Ghent peak in support of Bayt Muhammad Academy - the UKs First Shāfi’ī Darul Uloom!

Your donations, words and encouragement truly carried us through every step of the way Alhamdulillah. Just like you supported us for this beautiful cause, may the Almighty ease the crossing of the Sirāt on the day of judgement for us all and unite us with our Beloved Messenger ﷺ in the highest ranks of Jannah.

May Allah accept your immense effort, reward you all abundantly from His unlimited treasures, and place immense khayr, barakah and aafiyah in every contribution of yours for this beautiful cause! 🏔️🤲🏼

🤲🏼❤️ Also a massive thanks once again to @summit.special for leading and guiding us seamlessly, and our amazing sponsors @jlifestyleuk @olive_academy1 @chaistation_ and Mighty Fresh for their generous contributions to support this event!

📸 Enjoy today’s highlights and stay tuned for the next one InshāAllah!

The hike may be over but the project needs your support to continue ⬇️

On 13.06.26, our incredible community came together for a fundraising hike in support of @maaglobal_

With 30+ hikers taking on the challenge to climb the highest peak in the Peak District - Kinder Scout, we raised over £10,000 to support maternity aid clinics in Bangladesh - helping improve access to essential maternal healthcare for women who need it most.

To everyone who hiked, donated, shared, and cheered us on: thank you for making this possible. Every step taken will help make a meaningful difference 🤍
