Уже наприкінці літа в Києві відбудеться шостий Саміт перших леді та джентльменів. Його тема – «Світ 2026: віднайти опору в часи невизначеності».

У період швидких змін, що потребують миттєвої реакції та адаптивності, стійкість перетворюється на ключовий елемент, який допомагає вистояти в кризу. І це стосується як окремих людей, так і суспільств загалом.

Зовсім скоро перші леді та джентльмени, а також експерти з різних країн зберуться на саміті, щоб розглянути, що саме допомагає країнам відновлюватися. Впродовж двох днів гості дослідять практичні, ідейні та сенсові виміри резильєнтності та обміняються найкращими практиками, які їхні країни зберегли й пронесли крізь роки.

Later this summer, Kyiv will host the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen under the theme “World 2026: Finding Stability in Times of Uncertainty.”

In an era of rapid change that demands constant adaptation and swift responses, resilience has become one of the key forces that helps people and societies withstand crises and move forward.

Very soon, First Ladies and Gentlemen, together with experts from around the world, will gather to explore what enables countries to recover and thrive in times of uncertainty. Over the course of two days, participants will examine the practical, philosophical, and human dimensions of resilience, while sharing the experiences and approaches that have helped their societies endure across generations.

🌍 In 2021, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, founded the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen as an initiative bringing together the spouses of world leaders around global humanitarian challenges.

🔄 By the end of 2023, it had become clear that this initiative had outgrown the format of annual Summits alone—thus, the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform was established.

🌍 On 18 December, First Ladies and Gentlemen from Europe and Latin America held the annual end-of-year online meeting of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform. They reflected on five years of the Platform’s work, reviewed the outcomes of 2025, and discussed plans for 2026.

The meeting was attended by the First Lady of Ukraine and Founder of the Global Platform, Olena Zelenska @olenazelenska_official, Bo Tengberg (Denmark), Sirje Karis (Estonia), Dr Lucrecia Peinado @lucreciapeinadoficial (Chair of the Alliance of Spouses of Heads of State and Representatives of Latin America, Guatemala), and Dr Aleš Musar (Slovenia).

💬 During the meeting, participants discussed how the Platform can continue to develop as an influential instrument of international humanitarian diplomacy, grounded in the principles of solidarity and mutual support.

For the Global Platform, 2025 marked a year of significantly strengthened international presence:

📍 The Fifth Summit brought together representatives from more than 20 countries.

📍 The global campaign "Every Generation Leaves Its Mark. Education Shapes Its Legacy" reached over 26.5 million people across 32 countries.

📍 For the first time, an event at the United Nations brought together four regional organisations of First Ladies and Gentlemen.

📍 Through the research "Education as a Tool for Shaping Personal Resilience, National Social Capital, and a Culture of Peace", we highlighted the most pressing educational challenges faced by students, teachers, and parents.

📍 Together with the Vienna School of International Studies @da_vienna, we organised a high-level training event for First Ladies and Gentlemen focused on the challenges of contemporary diplomacy.

📍 We also delivered two digital campaigns with a combined reach of over 13 million people, addressing mental health and the protection of children’s rights with the participation of Global Platform members, partners, and influencers.

We are confident that new opportunities for cooperation and change lie ahead — bringing benefits for humanity as a whole. by @summit_flg

On 6 October, “One Desk. Two Marks” — our installation created as part of the global campaign “Every generation leaves its mark. Education shapes its legacy” — was presented at the International Cultural Diplomacy Forum.

The event brought together diplomats and cultural figures and featured speeches by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska @olenazelenska_official; Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha @sybiha.andrii; and Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna @tetyana__b.

Our campaign is one of the outcomes of the Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, dedicated to education. It highlights how war affects children’s education in Ukraine and far beyond its borders.

6 жовтня «Одна парта. Два сліди» — наша інсталяція до глобальної кампанії «Кожне покоління лишає слід. Освіта визначає який» — була представлена на Міжнародному форумі культурної дипломатії.

На події, де зібралися дипломати та культурні діячі виступили перша леді України Олена Зеленська, міністр закордонних справ України Андрій Сибіга та Віцепрем'єр-міністерка з гуманітарної політики – міністерка культури України Тетяна Бережна.

Наша кампанія — один із результатів П'ятого Саміту перших леді та джентльменів, присвяченого темі освіти. Вона розповідає, як війна позначається на освіті дітей в Україні та далеко за її межами.

The Global Vocabulary of Resilience is a mosaic of experiences from six continents. It brings together concepts, social practices, institutional models and cultural approaches through which different societies explain what helps them withstand crises, support one another, keep moving forward and make meaning of difficult experiences.

The Vocabulary was one of the outcomes of the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, dedicated to the theme “World 2026: Finding Stability in Times of Uncertainty”. The first edition, presented at the Summit, brought together the experiences of 38 countries. Today, the digital edition features 45 concepts from 43 countries and continues to grow.

In September, the Vocabulary was also presented at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during an event organised by the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. First Ladies, spouses of Prime Ministers and other participants from 21 countries shared their societies’ experiences of resilience.

The concepts in the Vocabulary are grouped into four dimensions: “Survive”, “Act”, “Stay Together” and “Make Meaning”. Each explores a distinct resilience mechanism shaped by a particular historical, cultural or institutional context, offering a unique perspective on a country’s experience. Together, they form a shared language of resilience that enables countries to learn from one another.

The Global Platform invites more countries to join the Vocabulary and share their own experiences and practices of resilience.

As we round up day 1, the General reminded the 38 NGOs present that the purpose of this symposium is not only to discuss the wellbeing and empowerment of men and boys, but to coordinate our efforts and take meaningful action into communities.

He encouraged all stakeholders to leave the symposium with a clear sense of responsibility and to go into the field with aggressiveness, urgency and determination to reach every boy.

He said he is entrusting us with this responsibility — to take what we have discussed here and turn it into action on the ground.

On 6 October, the desk and blackboard from our installation “One Desk. Two Marks”, part of the global campaign “Every generation leaves its mark. Education shapes its legacy”, returned to Kyiv. This time, they were presented at the International Cultural Diplomacy Forum, where First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska @olenazelenska_official, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha @sybiha.andrii, and Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetyana Berezhna @tetyana__b delivered speeches.

The Forum is an annual professional conference bringing together experts from Ukraine and other countries to discuss diplomatic challenges and exchange ideas. The installation’s presence at the Forum is no coincidence: over the past year, the desk and blackboard have travelled to leading international humanitarian and diplomatic platforms, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), UNESCO, and the United Nations Office at Geneva. They have also been presented at one of Europe’s most renowned universities, the Sorbonne.

The digital part of the campaign reached 32 countries across different continents and was also displayed in Times Square in New York.

In her speech, the First Lady of Ukraine noted that education shapes not only knowledge, but also the values without which peace is impossible. The campaign has brought this message to audiences around the world. by @summit_flg

💬 Була рада виступити на Міжнародному форумі культурної дипломатії. Повномасштабна війна змінила роль української культури у світі. Нам довелося пояснювати не лише хто ми, а й про що ми. І найкраще це зробила культура – її мова зрозуміла без перекладу.

Сьогодні вона звучить нарівні з дипломатією у парламентах, міжнародних організаціях, на безпекових форумах. А для самих українців стала джерелом сенсу та стійкості. Тому маємо не лише говорити культурою про Україну, а й захищати її та знання про нас. Щоб світ знав про Україну від нас, а не через чужу оптику.

👥 Найкращий приклад такої мови – освітня кампанія @summit_flg «Кожне покоління лишає слід. Освіта визначає який». Її предметне втілення – пошкоджені обстрілами шкільна парта й дошка – уже побувало в Сорбонні, ПАРЄ, офісі ООН у Женеві та штаб-квартирі ЮНЕСКО. А сьогодні – поруч із залою форуму. by @summit_flg

❓ З чого починається інтерес до іншої країни? Найчастіше не з офіційних заяв, а з книжки, пісні, фільму чи зустрічі з людиною. Саме тому культура сьогодні – один із найпереконливіших способів, у які Україна говорить зі світом.

🎙 Про це я сьогодні говорила на 7-му Міжнародному форумі культурної дипломатії – щорічній фаховій конференції, яку організували @ukrainian_institute і @mfa_ukraine.

💬 Коли нам довелося пояснювати світові не лише хто ми, а й про що ми, зʼясувалося, що найкраще це вдається культурі. Її мова – це людські емоції і почуття, зрозумілі без перекладу.
Відтоді наша культура нарівні з професійними дипломатами звучить у штаб-квартирах міжнародних організацій, у залах парламентів, на безпекових форумах.

І самі українці звернулися до неї вже як до сенсу та власного голосу. Ми бачимо це в нових книжках, виставах і виставках, у тому, як по-новому прочитуємо класиків. Здається, культура стала одним із джерел нашої стійкості.

🌍 Це вже не лише моє спостереження. Спеціально для шостого @summit_flg у Києві й нашого «Глобального словника стійкості», до якого ввійшли практики 45 країн, наші науковці вперше виокремили складники української стійкості. І культура посіла серед них належне місце.

Культура захищає нас, але й ми повинні її захистити. Десятиліттями на нас дивилися через російську або радянську оптику, а треба, щоб про нас знали від нас.

👥 Саме для цього два роки тому з’явилася @office_global_coalition – щоб Україну вивчали на академічному рівні разом із Кримом як її невідʼємною частиною. Сьогодні коаліція обʼєднує 103 університети у 28 країнах світу.

🇺🇦 Україна тут – не лише обʼєкт дослідження, а й джерело нових знань і практичного досвіду. Адже ми протистоїмо одній із найбільших пропагандистських систем світу. І за ці роки навчилися того, чого бракує багатьом: розпізнавати брехню, відповідати на неї та не давати їй стати нормою. Війна прискорила розвиток наших технологій, медицини, психологічної підтримки.

Ми можемо і хочемо ділитися й цим досвідом. Країни і люди, які знатимуть Україну, допоможуть насамперед самим собі. by @summit_flg

At the end of September, during a meeting of the Alliance of Spouses of Heads of State and Representatives of Latin America @alianzaalma (Alianza ALMA), Dr Lucrecia Peinado @lucreciapeinadoficial, First Lady of Guatemala, handed over the presidency of the organisation to Mrs Lavinia Valbonesi @laviniavalbonesi_, First Lady of Ecuador.

Lavinia Valbonesi will lead Alianza ALMA for the 2026–2027 term.

During Dr Lucrecia Peinado’s year-long presidency, the Alliance focused on strengthening cooperation among the First Ladies of the region.

“Our efforts were aimed at strengthening cooperation and joining forces in support of the social causes of Latin America,” the First Lady of Guatemala noted.

As Guatemala handed over the presidency, Dr Peinado also wished the new president success in continuing this work and further strengthening ties among the countries of the region. #sflggp_news

Наприкінці вересня, час зустрічі Альянсу дружин лідерів держав та представників Латинської Америки (Alianza ALMA) д-р Лукресія Пейнадо, перша леді Гватемали, передала президентство організації пані Лавінії Вальбонесі, першій леді Еквадору.

Лавінія Вальбонесі очолюватиме Alianza ALMA у 2026–2027 роках.

Протягом року головування д-ра Лукресії Пейнадо робота Альянсу була зосереджена на зміцненні співпраці між першими леді регіону.

«Наші зусилля були спрямовані на зміцнення співпраці та об’єднання зусиль на користь соціальних справ Латинської Америки», — зазначила перша леді Гватемали.

Передаючи президентство, д-р Пейнадо також побажала новій очільниці успіхів у продовженні цієї роботи та зміцненні зв’язків між країнами регіону. by @summit_flg

On 23 September, the event “World 2026: Finding Stability in Times of Uncertainty. Mosaic of Experiences” took place on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly. It was organised by the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform together with 14 countries.

23 вересня на теренах 81-ї Генасамблеї ООН відбулася подія «Світ 2026: Віднайти опору в часи невизначеності. Мозаїка досвідів», організована Глобальною платформою Саміту перших леді та джентльменів разом з 14 країнами.

On 12 September in Lviv, Ukraine, Dr Aleš Musar, First Gentleman of Slovenia, received the Ivan Bobersky Honorary Award — the highest distinction of the Ivan Bobersky State University of Physical Culture and Sport.

The award recognised his contribution to preserving and promoting cultural heritage that connects the histories of Ukraine and Slovenia.

Ivan Bobersky was a Ukrainian educator, organiser of physical education and one of the founders of the Ukrainian tradition of physical culture and sport. After emigrating, he settled in Tržič, Slovenia, where he died in 1947. His archive — around 40 boxes of manuscripts, photographs, newspaper clippings and other materials — is now held at the National and University Library of Slovenia.

With Dr Musar’s support, representatives of the Lviv university researched Bobersky’s archive in 2026. Its further study will open new opportunities to explore his legacy and serve as another historical bridge between Ukraine and Slovenia. #sflggp_news

12 вересня у Львові д-р Алеш Мусар, перший джентльмен Словенії, отримав Почесний знак Івана Боберського — найвищу відзнаку Державного університету фізичної культури і спорту імені Івана Боберського.

Відзнаку вручили за його внесок у збереження та популяризацію культурної спадщини, що поєднує історії України та Словенії.

Іван Боберський — український педагог, організатор фізичного виховання та один із засновників української традиції фізичної культури і спорту. Після еміграції він оселився у словенському Тржичі, де помер у 1947 році. Його архів — близько 40 коробок рукописів, фотографій, газетних вирізок та інших матеріалів — нині зберігається в Національній та університетській бібліотеці Словенії.

За підтримки д-ра Мусара у 2026 році представники університету зі Львова дослідили архів Боберського. Його подальше опрацювання відкриє нові можливості для вивчення спадщини діяча та стане ще одним історичним мостом між Україною та Словенією. by @summit_flg
