Just a few snaps from this incredibly fun and gorgeous redwood elopement recently! These two planned a day to perfection, having their ceremony amongst their families and then spending time on their own hiking through the towering trees and ending with some tequila shots b the beach before heading back to their VRBO to indulge in an amazing dinner and delicious cake with their guests. Excited to share more from this beautiful day vvv soon! by @summitandsur

Emma said “yes” to Ryan while standing on what feels like the top of the world. After backpacking in the park for a few days together, Ryan got down on one knee and asked her for forever at this epic spot. It was such a sweet moment to capture and I truly don’t know that I’ve ever had anyone as surprised as Emma was in that moment. Ryan even packed a change of clothes for her for photos after, including her shoes and necklace. Pure joy all around and a huge congrats to this lovely, adventurous couple! ♥️ by @summitandsur

Just going to leave this here because there aren’t enough words for how incredible this morning was in Yosemite😍

Very much looking forward to sharing more soon!

Listen, if anyone tells you that cutting a cake on your elopement day is too traditional, ignore them! Not only because cake is amazing (duh!), but because regardless of traditions or not, doing what you want on your elopement day is key. If that includes cake, great! If it doesn’t, also great. Just make sure that whatever your plans are for that day reflect what you as a couple love and value.

Also, like, this is a badass non-traditional way to cut a cake, if I do say so myself 🗡️🎂❤️ by @summitandsur

A hike turned surprise proposal? Say less! This may have been last summer but being back in California made me nostalgic and now I can’t stop dreaming of this perfect afternoon (and every single one like it that I’m lucky to photograph for my couples) in the Sierras.

Happy to be home with my family but oh how I miss Yosemite already ❤️ by @summitandsur

Gorgeous day for a vineyard elopement in the North Georgia mountains☀️

Grace and Madi put together their elopement in just a couple weeks while their families were all in town together for vacation. That might be a scary thought to some but sometimes that’s the best way to do it. And in this case, absolutely worth it! More photos to come from this special, intimate day at Roo Mountain Vineyards in Ellijay, GA ❤️

Congrats G + M!!!! by @summitandsur

Every time I work in the redwoods, it brings me back to 2020 when I had visited the area for the second time and Taylor Swift surprise dropped Folklore. We were heading out, driving back south for our journey home and I listened to the album for the first time while watching the massive trees whizz past us in the car. It was oddly magical and the album vibe fit with our scenery so well, it kind of became my official anthem for any trips up there. Then, fast forward to a couple years ago and the lyrical genius dropped TTPD while I was up there shooting an elopement (actually, now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure she also dropped one of the Taylor’s Versions while I was up there too but I digress) and then that was also added on to the 🤝 that is Taylor Swift and the redwoods.

This is a really long winded way of saying that if you like Taylor Swift and gorgeous forests, let’s chat and plan your elopement in the redwoods 😉 by @summitandsur

It’s that time of year again and I finally have dates for my annual return to SoCal to catch up with friends and squeeze in as many sessions as I can ❤️

I’ll be available for sessions in Southern California from November 11-16…book now to save your spot! Can’t wait to see everyone 🎉 by @summitandsur

Two more weeks till I’m back in my favorite place but I literally can’t stop thinking of all the beautiful moments I got to witness and photograph this past week in the park. Add onto that getting to hike and explore with one of my best friends, it was quite the trip ❤️ by @summitandsur

A perfectly sunny afternoon picnic by the river? Yes please!

These two celebrated H’s birthday with a gorgeous cake, a delightful little picnic, and a stunning set of florals. And of course they brought me along to capture the fun memories made ❤️ by @summitandsur

The moment the proposal happens and then everything immediately afterwards…that’s my favorite part. The emotions, the smiles, the questions (“who knows?” and “how long have you been planning this?”), the exhilaration of it all, it just can’t be replicated.

D + E had a gorgeous sunrise proposal in Yosemite this spring and everything about it was just perfect. Looking forward to being back in my happy place for more epic proposals twice next month! If you are planning on proposing or just want a session in the park mid August and late August/early September, send me a message and let’s get planning 🥳 by @summitandsur
