Brakøya. Past the last marked road, an island only reachable by boat (or by air). Alone in Raftsundet — a selection of curated spaces, quite mornings, loud views, no rush. A private island retreat and perhaps the definition of a unique place?

Out here, the interior never asks for the spotlight — like good music, you only notice it when it’s gone.

The regulation process has begun — and we couldn’t be more excited.
To create spaces in unique places is something we are deeply passionate about — and what made us start Summits.

This is a place with a hundred years of history. A harbour that once fed a community. Buildings that have weathered everything the Arctic could throw at them. What makes these projects challenging is also what makes them unique. You can’t replicate that. You work with what is there — and that, for us, is exactly what Summits is all about.

In the early 1900s, this site probably wasn’t chosen for its views.

It was chosen because it worked. For all the practical reasons.

Still hard to beat this part of the process.

Before the renderings, before the models, before everything becomes polished — there is this stage.

Sketches, conversations, loose ideas, and that first sense of what the project could become.

We automate a lot these days, but some parts we don’t really want to skip.

Utvikbrygga. There is something special about working within an existing frame. The old timber, the rhythm, the limitations — they give the project resistance, and that resistance is often where the best ideas begin.

They were here first.

In Henningsvær, nesting season is part of the rhythm of the place. The buildings are not empty shells — they are shelter, lookout points, and sometimes home.

In Norway, nesting birds are protected. So for a while, the building is theirs — and we work around them with care.
