A little before & after ✂️🤎✨

I’m still learning to remember the BEFORE pictures, so we’re working with wet hair today 😂 But look her gorgeous, rich dark color and those curls!! Getting to put my new Bio Ionic curling iron to work, and I’m OBSESSED. 🥹🤍 Slowly but surely, getting better at capturing the magic!

When mom says we’re having a spa night before bed, so the living room turned into a whole esthetician’s office… 😂🧖‍♀️ Phone held up by a light plus some ribbon, hot towels courtesy of the blanket warmer, and a clothes steamer doing its best. Anything for my sweet girl 🥹🤍

A WALK-IN WASH & BLOWOUT?! 🫧💇🏼‍♀️

Got a fun little walk-in appointment for a wash & blowout! 🤍✨ Getting to do what I love makes all the crazy days at school so worth it… & I’m not gonna lie… I LOVE doing hair. 🥹 Slowly but surely, I’m becoming the hairstylist I’ve always dreamed of being! ☀️✂️

POV: Your girlfriend goes to cosmetology school and suddenly your mullet is her practice project 💀✂️

First men’s cut in the books, and the mullet lives to see another day!! 🤠😂🫶🏼

✂️ FIRST HAIRCUT IN COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL!!! 🥹🤎

Little ol’ me really out here becoming a hairstylist!! 🥹✨

My first haircut might seem like a small thing…even cutting 6 inches off, but it’s one step closer to the dream I’m working so hard for. Soaking up every lesson, learning as I go, and falling more in love with this journey every day. 🤍

Here’s to the beginning of something special! 🌞🌊

🌞🌊 MEET THE GIRL BEHIND SUN & STRAND 🌊🌞

Hi, I’m Haila — the girl behind the scissors with the beachy hair obsession, and the slightly unhinged agenda. 😂✂️

I’m currently a cosmetology student at JD Beauty Academy, chasing a dream I’ve had for a long time: becoming a hairstylist and creating hair that feels effortless, sun-kissed, beachy, and most importantly, leaves you feeling like YOU. 🤍

I’m a mom to my amazing daughter and two goofy corgis, a lover of lake days with my man who rocks a mullet, sunshine, thrifting, camping, and anything that makes life feel a little more fun. 🌊☀️🐶

Sun & Strand is my little corner where I get to document the journey — from mannequin heads and school chaos to eventually getting behind the chair.

I’m still learning. Still figuring it all out. Still making mistakes as I find my way… But I’m showing up, putting in the hours, and building something that’s mine. 🤍

So if you’re here this early… thank you for being here.
Welcome to Sun & Strand. 🌞🌊✂️
