i’m so incredibly grateful and excited to invite you all to the opening of my first solo show, Riverbraids this Saturday May 16th with @erincluleygallery .I’ve been deeply invested in bringing this new body of work into the material over the past 6 months, and owe so much to my friends at vermont studio center for gifting me time and space to plant these seeds… my dear aida for guiding my hand and collaborating with me to soften steel and silver, to jill for their generous gifts of story and thoughtful articulation, Blake and Victoria and Erin for their continued mentorship and trust, my step dad who so patiently held my 8’ oak boards as a ran them through the table saw, my mom for literally holding the torch and keeping me steady, my jaani priya for lifting me up and up and up and keeping my heart soft.i especially thank the prettyboy appalachian rivers that swept me downstream those blazing summer swimming days…. and continued to flow through me long thereafter - cooling heartbreak, loss, and anger in the seasons to come and the one we find ourselves in now. Riverbraids is a testament to the interlacing currents that tangle me, you, and spirit. the ones that both shape us and allow us to be shaped too, what a miracle! I sincerely hope you may come celebrate with us🤍Saturday, May 16 at 4:00 - 7:00 PMErin Cluley Gallery150 Manufacturing St, Suite 210Dallas, TX by @sun__dogs

Featured in Katie Miller’s ‘Riverbraids’, ‘Pearl in the Vinestack’ (2026) brings together handwoven indigo cloth, graphite drawing, freshwater pearls, and custom steel hardware fabricated in collaboration with Aida Lodge.Extending beyond the woven surface, threads and pearls become active elements within the work’s composition. In her exhibition essay ‘Love Is a Dog From Hell’, Jillian Wendel writes:“Through a sliver of a gap in Lodge’s steel shelf, tendrils of white thread, extensions of the weave itself, yearn for the ground; a single blue thread dangles amongst the white, holding four freshwater pearls tied to its end.”Suspended between weaving, drawing, and sculpture, ‘Pearl in the Vinestack’ reflects Miller’s ongoing interest in transformation, desire, and the fluid structures found throughout the natural world.Entering its final week, the exhibition remains on view through June 20. “I see myself in these fields, too.”Featured in ‘Riverbraids’, Katie Miller’s ‘Nightwinds’ (2026) is built from a repeating botanical motif inspired by M.P. Verneuil’s ‘Etudes de la Plante’. The image depicts a swooping, entangled plant connected to its siblings through root systems and florets. For Miller, the form evokes fields animated by wind and movement, where individual plants become part of a larger living system.“My goal through this work is to resist the capitalist’s urge to consume or exploit the field, but rather to depict the field as autonomous, energetic, and sovereign. It’s about honoring the intelligence of the land, and honoring its lifeforce outside of what it gives us.”‘Riverbraids’ remains on view through Saturday,June 20. Snake Coil, Hair CurlHandwoven cloth with cotton and mohair, framed in red oak, tin inlay13 x 13 x 1”2026On view through June 20th at Erin Cluley Gallery in Dallas, TX. Some pieces flow so easy from my hands and this was one of them, a sweet and colorful little pattern sample formed into a butterfly flower curling, coiling, stretching across its wings, framed in red oak with drawings of me and priya’s curls carved and inlaid into the wood with tin solder. I’m inching closer to sculpture everyday but with the most fiercely drawing brain you could imagine… drawing in as many materials as i can! by @sun__dogs

We are delighted to announce Dallas-based artist, Katherine Miller, as the winner of the fifth annual open call for proposals for the 2026 season. ✨ Miller will receive a month-long solo exhibition in May 2026, an honorarium of $500, professional photographic documentation of the show, and mentorship as needed. For the second time, the winning Cluley Projects Open Call exhibition will be displayed at Erin Cluley Gallery’s main location in the Design District.___Images:Portrait of the artist. Katherine Miller“Draw a ribbon of light upon the water…”2023Handwoven lace cloth, natural indigo, linen, wool, five found stonesDimensions variable___ Katherine Miller (b. 2001) is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and BFA graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Fibers. Her work collages iterative and intuitive rituals of weaving, printmaking and natural dye to explore our relationship to the natural world through the material and the ephemeral. Influenced by signs and symbols of the occult. Miller’s practice poses craft as a tool for spiritual resilience and as a means of entry to eclipsed systems. She has exhibited work across Maryland, North Texas, and South Florida. Miller currently lives and works in Dallas, TX.___#erincluleygallery #cluleyprojects #Katherinemiller #opencall #dallasgallery #dallascommunity #dallasart #textiles #fiberart by @sun__dogs
