We did it!!
We’re beyond happy, proud, and absolutely ecstatic to share that Sunbird has been named one of the Top 50 Barbecue Joints by @TexasMonthly!

This prestigious list only comes out every four years, and being included is a massive honor for any small business — especially one like ours that started with a simple goal: to make the best barbecue we could, and to shine a light on East Texas and our hometown of Longview.

This recognition means the world to us. It’s the result of years of hard work, long hours, and more than a few challenges along the way. To our customers, friends, and family — thank you. Your support has carried us through it all, and we wouldn’t be here without you.

We’re taking a moment to celebrate, and we hope you will too.

We have been through so much since we started Sunbird, thank you @bbqsnob for telling our story. Thank you to those who have been with us through the beginning and thank you to everyone who has come to see us in the building. We would not be here today without every single one of you and we’re so thankful for your support.

It’s hard to find the words to express how great this feels for us. After everything we have been through this couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s everyone’s favorite day of the week, pork belly burnt end day! This Saturday we’ve got big red pork belly burnt ends, more mac and cheese and PLENTY of barbecue from 11am-3pm or sellout! This Friday we’ve got another batch of our Tex Mex brisket boudin hitting the special board! It’s full of brisket, Tex Mex rice, cilantro and green onions! We’ll have plenty of barbecue ready for y’all plus more mac and cheese! Call in orders open at 8am but on boudin days as soon as we hit our max we’ll cut them off so make sure you don’t wait! This Friday we’re bringing back our Tex-Mex brisket boudin to the special board!

If you’ve been loving our regular brisket boudin, we think you’re going to love this one too if you haven’t tried it yet. Packed with brisket, Mexican rice, cilantro, green onions, and our Tex-Mex seasoning, this one brings a whole new twist to one of your favorites! We’ll have plenty of barbecue ready to go, plus we’re making more mac and cheese!

Call in orders open at 8am, but remember, on boudin days, once we hit our max for call in orders, we turn the phones off. If you’ve been wanting to try this one, don’t wait too long!
