Wow. What a wild and soul-riveting experience that was the Multiversal Dome at the Texas Eclipse Festival! Not only did we pull off the task of curating the 4-day, 16-hours-daily event and music lineup, but we also gathered and built the 60 ft dome in just 3 weeks! AND… I debuted my 1st live Empress Sunbow set! I hadn’t planned to perform originally, because pre-production was so INTENSE. I had zero time to prep for my set, but upon arriving on site, I was asked so many times if I’d play. The universe couldn’t have spoken more clearly! So when 2 of our performers fell through due to flight delays, I last-minute jumped on the bandwagon and played my set. What an unforgettable experience! I could not have asked for a better audience (THANK YOU!! ❤️). It was the most magical performance I’ve ever had! Hearing my music on the 6.1 Funktion-One surround sound system with 360-degree full dome visuals 🤯 and it being so well received made all the struggle worthwhile. It was absolutely mind-blowing and heart-opening beyond my wildest imagination. As someone who has struggled with (con’t in comments)

Really feeling this last night. Had to record a little acappella.. Not a perfect recording but whatever because our entire journey, everything we do, experience, lost, found, all that we love, hate, avoid, pursue; all our dreams and goals; all our pain, pleasure is all for the purpose of self discovery, to guide us back home to our souls, to remember that we are whole, to remember that we are gold. To know that we are love and loved. Always. So if you are learning about yourself on the way, then it is all worth it.

It’s official! I’m now going by SUNBOW as my artist name.

“Empress” was a nickname given to me years ago, but SUNBOW is the name I chose for myself. After the past few years of shedding old identities and reclaiming my voice, it feels right to simply be SUNBOW now.

The last eight years were the dark night of my soul.

But it was one of the most rewarding paths I've ever walked.

My healing began when I started doing shadow work - owning the parts of myself I once disowned.

I saw where I had abandoned myself, and little by little, I course corrected. In doing so, I got my power back.

Slowly, I healed and came back to myself, unconditionally accepting my light, my shadow, and everything in between.

I reclaimed my voice by feeling all my feelings, my body by releasing tension, my time by ending old patterns of self-abandonment.

Now I'm pouring everything from that journey into the album that was conceived three years ago. I am working day and night to finish it and honestly I want it done already lol but the music has a mind of its own, so I'm allowing it to unfold one petal at a time. 🌱

I stopped fighting myself and answered the call.

For years, I argued with myself about my calling, wondering if I was really cut out for it because of my introverted and private nature. Yet I continued to obsessively and stubbornly learn everything I could about the craft.

The funny thing about a calling is that once you hear it, you can’t unhear it. So I finally decided to fully surrender, because even 1% resistance was exhausting. It’s like a voice that refuses to leave until you see it through.

The beautiful part is that the more I surrender, the more I become myself. All that energy I used to spend arguing with myself is now free to create. That’s been the unexpected reward of choosing to do uncomfortable but necessary things.

Looking back, I think even the doubt itself was some kind of preparation. Everything unfolded in its own time.
