Dear Sunnies, a little parking guide from us.

We’re a home cafe in a quiet neighbourhood, and we’re very grateful to our neighbours for being okay for us to be around.

‼️What most don’t know is that it only takes 1 complaint to put our little home cafe at risk to closing down. 😭

If you love what we do and want to help us stay here, here are a few small things we’d really appreciate when parking:

1️⃣Please don’t park in a way that disrupts traffic.
2️⃣Please don’t block our neighbours’ gates or entrances.
3️⃣If you see a cone outside a neighbour’s house, please leave it there as the spot is reserved for their car.
4️⃣Please avoid sharp corners where parked cars may block visibility.

🅿️ Can’t find a suitable roadside spot?
There’s a multipurpose hall diagonally across from us with ample FREE parking. It’s just a short walk to Sunbrew!

We know it’s a small thing, but it really helps us maintain a good relationship with our neighbours.

Thank you for helping us look after our space. 🫶☕️ by @sunbrew.uptown

👀 I mean… we can’t be the only ones thinking this party was fire right? 🫨😳🔥❤️‍🔥🚒

As a little weekend passion project, we try our best to document these moments, partly as a reminder to ourselves that this thing we started from nothing has somehow grown into a little community of people who keep showing up and connecting 🔄🙆🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️over coffee.

As we head into the last few months of 2026, we hope you get a little time recenter, realign, and rmb the things you wanted for yourself at the start of the year.

Manifest the good stuff✨. Make more plans✍️.. or no plans😜. Take more breaks (a must!!). Drink good coffee 😮‍💨☕️ . And LFG Sunnies☀️!!

Shout out to the gang @hengbucha.my @nabo_pizza @fyp.radio for making this happen! Couldn’t have done it with you guys 🥹🫶💖 taken in Sunbrew Coffee by @sunbrew.uptown

@ian7023 and I were talking the other day, and the word “ play “kept coming up. It stuck with me. As adults, we’re all conditioned to just grind, put our heads down, and work hard. But we forget how important it is to just play. Even though we are all grown, being in that playground mindset lets you actually look around and explore things that hard work alone never could.

For the last few days during the pop up, @theeditor.salon was exactly that, a playground 🛝 for Sunbrew☀️

Stepping into that newly renovated space, it became about making genuine connections through coffee, life, and shared obsessions like watches, camera gears, and hifi setups. It was catching up with old friends, trading perspectives, or just laughing about absolute nonsense. Everyone who showed up for a haircut or a filter pour-over brought incredible energy. Honestly, it completely rejuvenated my 🧠💭mindset and perspective. I haven’t had a play session like that in a very long time 🛝

I’m thoroughly grateful to everyone who supported this pop-up and enjoyed the filter coffee I served. Huge thanks to the team at The Editor Salon for making an outsider feel right at home. And thank you, Ian not just for the invite, but for trusting me to be the very first pop-up after the place was newly renovated. Thanks for allowing me to “play” and have a great time.

Our Path To Here started somewhere small, but it led to this amazing connection with everyone who was involved and supported us. ☀️Sunbrew was never just a coffee place. It’s a connection point for people from all walks of life. We share that exact same sentiment with The Editor Salon, it’s never just about the coffee or the haircut💇💇‍♀️. It’s always more than that✨ taken in The Editor Salon by @sunbrew.uptown

Some collaborations start with an idea. Ours started much earlier.

Back in her 20s, Jan first met Ian through a haircut. What began as a simple appointment became a friendship that stayed through different chapters of life.

Years passed. We each built our own things, met new people and collected new stories.

And somehow, those paths have brought us here.

Connected at different points in time, now coming together through a shared love for coffee, art and the people we meet along the way.

For this lil crossing of paths, @theeditor.salon & @sunbrew.uptown will be taking over the Tropicana Avenue space with a curated filter coffee bar, featuring beans from roasters across Malaysia, Melbourne, Hong Kong and London.

Come find us at the editor, Tropicana Avenue.
29 SEP, 1 OCT, 2 OCT 2026 (TUE, THUR, FRI)
11AM – 5PM

And perhaps that’s the coolest part of it all: you never really know where a path might lead, or who you might meet along the way. taken in The Editor Salon by @sunbrew.uptown

🎵🎶Music has always been a big part of Sunbrew, but recently we found out how to listen to it even better.

Ever since visiting @monk_41c Modern Jazz Corner and having the privilege to have Loon (@fyp.radio ) spin at our place, I’ve been blessed. Loon was kind enough to lend me a pair of JBL 4311 speakers, and they completely changed my view on what a good speaker sounds like.

The clarity in the vocals, the nice mids, and the way you can still hear every instrument detail on the track sent me straight down the rabbit hole.

Now, I want you ☀️✨Sunnies to enjoy this too! We just got our very own pair of JBL 4311. Please come enjoy them as much as you and I can—good music, listened to in a better way, and who knows, music might never sound the same again😉 it might just change your mind about music, too. taken in Sunbrew Coffee by @sunbrew.uptown

That’s a wrap, for now!

Thank you to everyone who came through and shared a coffee together. And a very special thanks to our hosts, for opening your doors and giving this idea a place to exist. 🙏🏻

Hello KL, I’m bringing a little bit of Melbourne with me!

A LOVE LETTER TO MALAYSIA

On SUNDAY 6 Sept, you’ll find me brewing at @sunbrew.uptown, with a line-up of coffees I’ve brought over from Melbourne.

Whether Melbourne coffee is completely new to you, or you’re coming back to a roaster you already love, I’ve put together a menu with plenty to explore.

Featuring coffees from:
@onacoffee
@newav.coffee
@pathmelbourne
@ichihaze_melbourne

I’ll also have a very small number of retail bags available, so if you find something you love, you might be able to take it home with you too.

Come by, have a coffee, say hi, and maybe find your next favourite coffee!

See you in KL 🤍

Where do we even start…

So many of you showed up for Sunbrew’s 3rd birthday, and honestly… we’re still processing it.

The music was 🔥, the house was buzzing, and every corner was filled with people chatting, laughing, and just… hanging out. That’s exactly what we hoped this party could be.

The pizza 🍕 was so good (right??), the kombucha kept flowing 🚰 and somehow all of you brought enough good vibes to carry us through the chaos.

Speaking of chaos… thank you for embracing it. 😵‍💫 Thanks for waiting patiently, sharing tables (and chairs), making room for one another, and bringing such incredible energy into our little space.

There are so many people we’d love to thank.. our friends at @nabo_pizza @hengbucha.my @fyp.radio, photo courtesy of @tommi.amg , everyone who helped behind the scenes, and every single one of you who took time out of your Saturday to celebrate with us.

3 years in, we’re reminded that Sunbrew has never just been about coffee. It’s always about the curated experience that we love to bring to the community.

Our hearts are SO SO FULL. 🫶🫶🫶

Ps.. should we throw more parties just for fun? 👀 taken in Sunbrew Coffee by @sunbrew.uptown

HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY!
BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR! ( We have limited seats)

1 Aug, 10AM–5PM.
WE’RE TURNING 3!!! 🫨🫨🫨 So we’re throwing a PARTYYYYY!!!

We’re switching things up for the day, and we’ve invited some of our favourite people to join the celebration.

☕ Coffee, of course.
🍕 Artisanal pizza by Nabo Pizza (pork-free!!)
🚰 Free-flow kombucha by Hengbucha
🎵 Vinyl DJ sets by FYP Radio
💛 And hopefully... great people (that’s you!)

Honestly, we have no idea if nobody’s gonna show up... or if everyone’s gonna show up. 😂

Either way, come crash the party. Bring a friend. Bring a chair. Stay for a coffee. Stay longer if you’re having fun. taken in Sunbrew Coffee by @sunbrew.uptown
