Presenting our skit from the @anime_los_angeles 2026 Masquerade! 🏀 🎉

The team takes on ALA! This year we entered the ALA Masq as the biggest team in the competiton and also the biggest group RUC has ever taken to a masquerade since 2015! Coincidentally, this year is the 20th anniversary of High School Musical, which made it the perfect opportunity to use the music for our skit. Fullmetal Alchemist is also a favorite anime for many of our team members, which made this a super fun skit to perform! We’re so happy with the end results and we really enjoyed hearing all your cheering, clapping, and singing along while we were on stage! We even won an award for Best Musical Performance! We’re so honored and grateful that we got the chance to perform at ALA Masq. Our favorite thing to do is perform for the audience, so we hope you all enjoy watching our skit again or for the first time!

✨ Queen Jolyne ✨

SHE'S FINALLY DONE! (Well at least 90% done) 🦋

Because Crunchyroll Expo weekend was so hectic for us, we didn't really get to take nice photos of Queen Jolyne, but we did get some quick hall shots and also photos from the Crunchyroll Hime’s Cosplay Cup stage!

I'm so happy I got to make her wearable for the stage because of all the roadblocks that I ran into with this costume. I was originally going to make this corset have exterior boning, but the original ribbons were too wide so I had to take out all the boning, take the whole corset apart, and turn the corset into a double welted corset with ribbon sewn on all the channels.
I also ran out of vinyl for the wings so I just made do with half wings, and the original wig got ruined right before I left so I panic-bought a Jolyne wig online and styled it right before I left for the con (It was still in rollers when I checked in!). I'm quite happy with how well the longer wig fit with the whole outfit so I'll take that w. 🙌

I was kind of nervous wearing this on the con floor because I was worried it wouldn't read as Jolyne (And also I haven't wore a flashy cosplay at a con for 2 years) but it turns out it was really well received, and that made me a lot less nervous. 😄

I still want to improve her (Like adding rhinestones!)and I already have ideas for a self-photoshoot that I’m looking forward to!

(Also someone on the 🕒 app dubbed this costume as Queen Jolyne, I thought it was pretty cute so that's what I'm calling it now! 👑)

SuncakeMooncake posting cosplay progress again? More likely than you think. 😂

Anyways, here’s a stashbuster wig I recently styled for Rindo Haitani from Tokyo Revengers! Originally a long blonde lacefront I had ages ago, but I added a bunch of mint wefts that were leftovers from my Yunjin cosplay.
I got this wig done in 23 hours, and I’m most proud of ventilating the hairline with extra mint wefts for the color shift! I did that bit in 2 hours! (I was timing myself lmaoo)
I also tried out styling with only a crimper and steamer for this one and less hairspray/glue (only used it for the tips), and I really liked how it made the wig feel lighter. Might try out using even less glue on my next wig!

Anyways, I’m excited to cosplay him, and hopefully will make the rest of his outfit for the next con we go to!

Yippee! Sharing a commission I did around this time last year! 😄

Here is an original-designed Speedwagon jumpsuit I made for @uncle_speedwagon.cos ! This one was such a fun build because it wasn’t just going to be used for cosplay, but also as an outfit for drumming! 🥁

It started out as a jumpsuit, which I altered and then heavily modified to add the orange and white stripes! All of the stripes were top stitched to give it a nice, clean look. I even added special pockets on the sides to hold drumsticks!

I also made custom appliqués for the back, and Uncle Speedwagon trusted me with adding velcroed Speedwagon patches so they could be switched out in the future! Since this costume was also going to be used for daily wear, I made sure that all of the techniques and materials were super durable and machine-washable, including using lots of special seams designed for heavy-duty/workwear.
Lastly, I made a pouch for drumsticks with the leftover fabric. It fits in the chest and leg pockets too!

I defo had fun making this cosplay and brainstorming what it would look like with Uncle Speedwagon and I’m happy that he trusted me to make a cosplay and outfit for him! ✨

It’s better late than never for an @ichigocon.ox recap right? ✨🍓

Last month, we organized and hosted the IchigoCon cosplay contest! This year was the first time we introduced skits and custom music to our contest! We were so happy that our amazing director put so much faith in us, and the overall contest ran so smoothly! The contest was super successful, and we even hit our entry cap just one hour after the con started! Wow! Shoutout to all our amazing contestants, it takes a lot of guts to get up there, and we loved seeing you all on stage!
We also truly appreciated everyone who came out to watch and cheer on our contestants! 💖

A special thank you to our wonderful judges, @whimsy.mimsy , @brondoescosplay , and @revolution_culture , for taking the time to judge and for using your craftsmanship expertise to create a welcoming environment for all contestants.

We also want to thank our team of volunteers, @allnightercosplay , @chibbycookie , and @scarlet.the.panduh who helped us a ton with at-con sign-ups, lining contestants up, taking photos and more! The show would be a lot more chaotic without all of you!
A huge thank you as well to our director, Christian and to all the IchigoCon/OPAC staff who put so much trust in us and ran such a fun con!

And of course, congratulations to all the winners, and big thank you to every single contestant who participated! Whether you entered craftsmanship judging, performed on stage, or showed off a cosplay you made, bought, or thrifted, you should all be so proud of yourselves. We know this was the first contest for many of you, and it was so heartwarming to see how positive the reception was. You all did an awesome job! 💕
