We are here 🌞

When we say one-of-a-kind venue, we truly mean it.
Located five minutes away from Ganges Harbour by vehicle, this ocean side private peninsula stands out as one Salt Spring Islands most unique wedding venues.

Here are some fun bird’s-eye view photos of Sundown Point Farm via @harbourair seaplane.

Been a little quiet on here working away on the galleries from this season.

This year has been a lot of learning how to find my rhythm between motherhood and work, and I’m feeling especially grateful for all the couples who invited in and trusted me to document such a meaningful part of their lives.

There’s also so much from last year that I never got around to sharing, including this special day on Salt Spring Island. R embroidered her own wedding sign and table cloth, along with all the other thoughtful details throughout the day.

A menu inspired by the beauty of my Mexico, the vibrancy of its street food, the freshness of the ocean where I grew up, and the coastal spirit of Veracruz, a place I’ve been longing to visit. And always by Salt Spring Island whose rhythm of the seasons and abundance guide everything I cook 🌿

For this pre-wedding dinner I was deeply inspired by the couple and their love of Mexico, it felt like creating something that spoke to all of us.

We began with beet gazpacho, followed by a pork belly sope and cactus salad, black beans and mushroom curtido over fresh greens.

Our main course - wild Lincod a la Veracruzana, carried all the brightness and depth of the sea.

And we ended the night with a seasonal fig tamal, fig mole, @mavericksicecream and a fresh fig leaf oil.

FIG ON FIG ON FIG 🫔

As a little surprise, we shared a shot of my favourite mezcal, paired with @bullocklakefarm tomatillo and sal de gusano - an inspiration of my dear friend @tayloreliasw who has devoted his craft to mezcal and taught me the beauty of offering it this way.

A night filled with love, flavour and memory 🥂

Lovely wedding at the beautiful @sundownpointfarm yesterday. Congratulations R & G!

Got to help my buddy @haanpc and his team serve his delicious food AND got to cut the cake and galettes for the guests at the end, in an absolutely stunning setting!

Bright and colourful two tier cake, 10 inch chocolate cake with raspberry jam, fresh raspberries & chocolate buttercream and 8 inch carrot cake with lemon cream cheese, with a salted white chocolate buttercream. With three strawberry rhubarb almond galettes to round out the dessert offering 💖 fresh cherries and strawberries from @poets_ode , raspberries from north beach farm, rhubarb from @lisa.appletree and gorgeous blooms from @bullocklakefarm and my own garden.
