Shenzhen, China

Such a cool city because it’s so Cyber Punk-y!

Ping A Finance Center, The 5th tallest building in the world!

I know this doesn’t look like much but Coco Chicken is probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten! It’s chicken hotpot with coconut water-based broth! by @sunflowrsoph

Photos are our way of holding onto the moments and feelings we are most afraid of losing or simply want to relive.

So, what am I afraid of losing?

I could tell you that I’m afraid of losing the memories of what the most delicious foods I’ve ever had tasted like. But if I were to give you the real answer, one beyond the photos that I selectively share, it’s that I’m afraid of losing myself 🫪

When I travel I have so much more time to think about what/who really matters to me, how much there is left to learn and to experience. I want to continue to lead myself towards a life that feels fulfilling and remind myself that the world is truly so big.

So anyway! One of the best things I’ve eaten in Singapore is on slide 11. It doesn’t look like much but when I tell you I’ve been thinking about this cheesy bomb prata every day since I’ve had it, I mean it! I want to learn how to make this so bad!!!! by @sunflowrsoph

Came back from holiday and feeling completely misaligned. All I want to do is travel and to get paid doing it 😭 Is it too late to make that dream a reality??

I’m still thinking about Singaporean food! Their chili crab is top tierrrrrruhhhhh. I’ve had some of the best food of my life in these two weeks.

Mentally I am not here 🫠 by @sunflowrsoph

Unsure how one city can fit so many moments, views, and experiences into one place — definitely leaving with more than I came with. taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by @sunflowrsoph

The last of Georgetown, Penang!

This is one of the prettiest temples we’ve had the privilege of visiting. It was quiet, serene, and pleasantly filled with stores full of trinkets and goodies as you make your way to the giant Guan Yin Statue.

Whenever you sit down at a table at a night market, you’ll get approached by a stall worker to buy a drink (this is how you secure a table). I’ve had so many different juices on this trip and there’s still so much more to try! One of the most popular ones to get is green apple juice and it is to die forrrr. by @sunflowrsoph

Did you know in the 15th - 17th century a bunch of southern Chinese ā€œsettledā€ in Malaysia? As a result, a new ethnic group called ā€œPeranakanā€ emerged. There’s a lot of Chinese influence in the mansions we visited, temples, food we ate, and lot of locals here speak Cantonese fluently. I’m able to communicate with them better here than I did in China. This blend of cultures is truly fascinating.

Also the coffee scene here is truly impressive! The cafes here are SO pretty- my favorite one is called Nui, where the owner decorated their space with a vintage theme that I completely fell in love with. He told me he learned a lot of his Cantonese from watching TVB. TVB is one of the world’s largest producers of Chinese-language television. by @sunflowrsoph

Touched down in Penang, Malaysia!

And it was 91°F with 71% humidity. We still ate a bowl of hot hokkien mee for our first meal and then I rapidly declined after 🫠 I’m not built for this kind of weather at all. Nonetheless, we made the most of it and got some coffee to push us through.

We had THE BEST chicken samosas and onion pakodas in Little India then visited the Jetty’s. Later on, we went to the Chulia Street Night Market for even more food. It did not disappoint! I’m not sure if I’ve ever had Malaysian food before this trip, and now it’s easily one of my favorites. by @sunflowrsoph
