dance is my prayer to the sun, the moon, and my ancestors
sacred ritual and practice
a divine duality of light & darkness within
blessings of the suns rays, absorbed, multiplied, then dispersed with soft power
like sunflower seeds, blooming tall and enduring
I move through these rhythms as I remember my lineage
and get to know my shadows and strengths alike

joy is resistance
movement is medicine
house music heals
love is power

A little bop at work. It’s been hard to feel ok lately, and this song was absolute medicine to my soul.
Everyday i’m praying and in tears for my people and my city. Everyday I see images of our people being hunted down in places I used to feel safe. Now is not the time to look away. We deserve so much more.
We are beautiful, resilient, warm, hard working, and intelligent people. And we will not back down. You love our food, our music, our dances, visiting our countries to party, the essential work we do for your convenience. So stand with us now, in love and power.

Moving through the heavy emotions.
I’m eternally grateful for this space; for holding me through immense learning, shedding, and growth.
For bringing me lifelong friendships, unbreakable bonds, and a way to give back to my community through @recreation_session

Feeling the collective heartbreak here in LA, but the city is more united than ever. That’s the light in this situation. It’s so beautiful to see how people from all walks of life are coming together for each other in the face of devastation. That’s what it’s all about here, the only home I’ve ever known. by @sunflwrseeeds

What has Renovate meant to you?

For Jess, Renovate has been a display of powerful leadership 🌟

In addition we believe that we are leaders who lead other leaders. Individuals like Jess have become strong advocates for House by becoming community organizers themselves. We are thrilled to see the cycle continue.

Semillas de girasol🌻
Una conmemoración al ritmo sagrado que llevo dentro.

As I move into new seasons of life
I reflect deeply about intentions
What I choose to give creative life to
Remembrance, heritage, roots, and my inner child
These are the pillars that shape the emerging version of me
Holding me up while I build my sweetest reality
Divinely guided and protected every step of the way
Como semillas de girasol, sembraré mi luz en el camino

dancing for the trees, the wind, and the falling leaves
movement exploration of feeling, identity, reclamation
I’ve asked myself lately
“What am I dancing for?”
And the truth is, I move for me, because it’s a part of me
Deeply engrained in my cells since long before my earthly eyes can recall.
Each dance language in my practice, like a portal revealing purpose
Life has been sending serendipities lately, calling me further in each time, to remember. taken in Los Angeles, California by @sunflwrseeeds
