Ladybug 🐞❤️👙💁‍♀️ Sometimes you just want to become a ladybug. I’ve had the idea to make a ladybug costume for YEARS… and I finally made her happen. 🐞✨ This look is part of my first Halloweenie Bikini Collection, where combine two of my favorite worlds, swimwear & costume design. I wanted to have fun with this collection and keep the vibe playful & flirty. ❤️ From the handmade bikini and the hat I created it paired well with these special vintage heels (from my mom’s closet of course). I wanted every little detail to feel like part of the character. I’ll tell the story of where these wings came from another day… because THAT deserves its own story. 😉 I can’t wait to share more of my Halloweenie Bikinis with you this season! Long before I started designing my swimwear brand I followed my dream of costume design. Michael Jackson was a big inspiration to me as he was known for his iconic stage and red carpet looks. He showed me that fashion could tell a story, create a character, and become unforgettable art. Over the years, my path evolved into creating Sunlight Lover, my resort wear and swimwear brand. But I realized I didn’t have to choose between my love of swimwear and costume design, I could bring them together. 💛 When Summer ends I wanted to keep creating and celebrate other holidays, especially my favorite one. That’s how my Halloweeni Bikini Collection was started after many years of thinking about it. This red velvet bikini embellished with jewels was one of my favorite looks from my very first Halloween collection, inspired by Michael Jackson’s unforgettable 2002 VMA red carpet look. I reimagined it through the lens of swimwear, costume, and fashion into one design. “It’s all for love... L.O.V.E.” -MJ That quote has stayed with me throughout my creative journey. Every collection I create comes from a place of love for creating.
