Sometimes, all it takes is a song to bring someone back to life in our memories. A smile, a conversation, a fleeting moment — suddenly, we find ourselves reliving something we know we cannot have.

Why are we sometimes drawn to people who are unavailable? Why do we find ourselves repeating the same patterns, hoping for a different ending, even when our hearts have been broken before?

Perhaps the hardest part is not letting go of someone, but understanding why we keep reaching for what hurts us.
Some connections leave us with beautiful memories, unanswered questions, and a quiet ache that lingers long after the music stops.

Sometimes, leaving someone behind is only the beginning of finding yourself again.

We leave with unanswered questions, wondering whether the person who hurt us will ever understand the pain they caused. We hope for remorse, for recognition, for a moment when they finally see what we endured.

But healing begins when we stop waiting for someone else to acknowledge our pain.

Not every story ends with an apology. Not every wound receives an explanation. Sometimes, all we can do is keep moving forward, carrying the lessons but leaving the hurt behind.

And perhaps that is where our freedom begins. 🖤✨

Sometimes, we fall in love not only with a person, but with the version of them we create in our hearts. We hold on to promises, possibilities, and dreams of what could have been, hoping that one day reality will catch up with our imagination.

But healing begins when we learn to see things as they are, rather than as we wish them to be. ❤️‍🩹

Letting go doesn’t mean our love was meaningless. It means we are finally choosing ourselves, our peace, and the possibility of something real.

Some losses leave no visible scars, yet they change the way we love, trust, remember, and see ourselves.

Dots of Loss, a section of my poetry collection Connecting the Many Dots, explores heartbreak, loneliness, betrayal, unspoken words, and the difficult journey of letting go.

These poems were born from moments of longing, disappointment, and reflection—the moments when we struggle to make sense of what we have lost and who we are becoming because of it.

Over the coming days, I’ll be sharing poems from this section with you. Each one captures a different fragment of loss, reminding us that healing isn’t always a straight line, and letting go doesn’t mean that something never mattered.

Sometimes, putting pain into words is the first step towards understanding it.

Sometimes, finding someone feels like finally coming home after a long, lonely journey. 🤍

You walk through the cold, carrying the weight of every goodbye, every disappointment, and every moment you wished someone had stayed. And then, one day, you find the person your heart has been searching for.

But even in the warmth of that moment, there is fear.

The fear of losing them. The fear that history might repeat itself. The fear of opening your heart again, only to watch someone walk away.

And yet, you choose to hope.

You take another step toward them, quietly wishing that this time will be different. That this time, love will stay. That this time, you won’t have to find your way through the darkness alone.

Because sometimes, all a heart really wants is not a perfect love story, but someone who chooses to stay.

Sometimes, the hardest part of love isn’t the distance between two hearts, but everything that stands between them. The harsh words, the endless challenges, the longing for a love that could be a little easier.

And yet, even beneath the coldest skies, love has a way of remaining warm. Because when you find someone who touches your soul, you learn to cherish what you have, even when the journey is difficult.

Love isn’t always effortless. Sometimes, it asks for patience, courage, and faith. But when it finds you, you hold it close, protect it, and treasure it—because some connections are simply too precious to let go. 🤍

Some people make you feel weak and strong at the same time. ❤️‍🩹

His presence quiets the storms within me. His voice becomes my sanctuary, his touch a memory my heart refuses to forget. After so many moments of feeling broken, I found comfort in the gentleness of his hands and the rhythm of his heartbeat.

Perhaps love is not about finding someone who saves you, but someone beside whom your heart finally feels safe enough to breathe.
