📍matchaxo (home based) 518A Tampines Central 7, Singapore 521518 (5mins from tamp hub) decided to try matcha spots nearby home during their opening week & glad to say it was goodd matcha latte 🍵 ($5.50) pretty thick and not too bitter or sweet, would def get it again! hojicha latte☕️ ($6) i rly liked this but it’s no longer on the menu😞 hopefully they bring it back!! the hojicha was delicious definitely a good home based spot as the prices were decent and there are more unique flavors cmg out~ #homebased#matcha#sgdrinks#hojicha#tampines by @sunnythorneats
📍mollie makes @molliemakes.jb 30, Jalan Dhoby, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Ta’zim, Malaysia felt like we traveled to china for tea time~ sucha calm and dreamy ambience 🌙🕯️ handmade mochi, yam paste and assam milk tea with cheese foam🧀🧋 ~ ah ma shou zuo dupe! a very flavorful drink, it was like a whole dessert🍠 very hearty (i would drink it for breakfast) oh yeah mollie 🥥🥭 ~ so refreshing dessert! coconut jelly base was so cooling on a hot day along with the sweet mango! garlic cheese shio pan🧄🧀 ~ wow so sweet and salty i love this combo the shiopan was pretty good🥐 overall rly pretty place and great for photoshoot or simply just have a good tea time session 🤍 #jbcafe#molliemakes#teatimedessert#yamdrink#sgfoodie by @sunnythorneats
📍otto cafe @ottocafejb 81Jalan Chengai 80250 Taman Melodies, Johor Bahru, 80250 Johor, Johor Darul Ta’zim, Malaysia everyone probably alr knows this spot in jb cs it was packeddd kam heong soft shell crab pasta🦀 ~ OH THIS WAS DELISH the flavor was unique in a pasta & we rly liked it, they gave plenty of soft shell crab! otto garden breakfast 🪴 ~ had so much ingredients, some were pickled (niceee) but the focaccia bread i expected bigger pieces (not bad nonetheless) everywhere in the cafe is a photo spot, esp the water flowing in the table so cool! just to note: it was alittle pricey… #ottocafe#jbfood#jbcafe#sgfoodie#pasta by @sunnythorneats
📍 农耕记湖南菜 TM001 & TM002, Third Mezzanine Floor, The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey finally tried nong geng ji at mid valley southkey! here’s what we ordered~ 🍗 stir-fried kampung chicken with tea oil this reminded me of sesame oil chicken! it was fragrant and came with quite a generous amount of black fungus. i found it pretty decent, but the dish was on the salty side, so have to eat it with rice. 🍅 stir-fried silky tomato and egg i usually love tomato and scrambled eggs, so i thought this would be something enjoy but this one wasn’t really for me. the tomato flavour was quite overpowering, and i could barely taste the egg and it was a little too salty for my liking. 🥟 soup dumplings THE STAR OF THE MEAL!!! i lowkey think these are better than dtf’s 🤭 the dumplings were much bigger, and the soup inside was sooo flavourful. i’d genuinely come back just for these! overall, the food was okay, but most of the dishes we tried were a little too salty for my liking. if you’re visiting nong geng ji, MUST try their soup dumplings! i’ll probably give their other dishes a try next time~ #midvalley #jb #foodiesg #johorbahru #johorfood by @sunnythorneats
📍 A’rest cafe, Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru @arestcafe 20, Jalan Indah 13/2, Taman Bukit Indah, 79100 Iskandar Puteri, Johor Darul Ta’zim, Malaysia brought my partner to a’rest cafe for a birthday surprise after finding out about their birthday bash treat 🎂 andd here’s what we ordered! 🍰 strawberry cake the cafe’s popular strawberry cake! it was pretty good, though a little too creamy for me. the fresh strawberries inside helped balance out the richness. 🍫 birthday bash chocolate bites these had a chocolate shell on the outside with vanilla ice cream inside! you’ll need to book at least one day in advance, so contact the cafe beforehand and check on availability. 🍝 salmon mentaiko pizza they were really generous with the sauce, and you could definitely taste the mentaiko! it can get a little jelak after a while though, so I recommend sharing. 🍛 japanese curry don this wasn’t too spicy, so if you have a low spice tolerance and want something hearty, it’s a good option! 🍝 grilled chicken carbonara the sauce was rich and creamy and paired with the grilled chicken, it was pretty good! 🫐🍓honey berry oolong i could really taste the oolong tea, and the berries added a little tanginess. quite refreshing! overall, a cute spot for a meal with friends or a birthday date! service was really efficient and super friendly staff!! #johorbahru #cafejb #strawberrycake #johorbahrufood #foodiesg by @sunnythorneats
📍Bouche 40 Holland Dr, #01-27, Singapore 270040 (Highly raved about so we went to give it a try) @bouche.sg strawberry matcha🍓 pretty sweet, pleasant but not the best earl grey matcha🩶 love this combo and it was great too earth day matcha 🌎 omg sucha interesting and unique mix of blue pea and matcha! would def get it again so aesthetic and intriguing drinks, they accept cdc too, do check it out in holland village! however the matcha is pretty grassy (those who likes it will like) #matcha#sgcafe#bouche#hollandvillage by @sunnythorneats
📍basil king (multiple outlets around sg) i love thai cuisine & heard of their new opening of a stall near me🫣 we got their basil pork with double & single egg with L3 & 4 spice! as someone that loves spicy food omg it had a kick😅 the basil taste was strong and came with a spicy aftertaste (pls get a drink tgt with the meal) but it was balanced out with the super yolky egg! super creamy and went well with the rice rly authentic and affordable, would def get it often~ #basilking#thaifood#sghawker#spicyfood#basilporkricewithegg by @sunnythorneats
📍 Red Dog 107 N Bridge Rd Singapore 179105 finally my turn to try red dog in singapore!! the first time i had red dog was in batam and i really liked it, so when i heard they opened in singapore, i had to come down and try it again 🤩 🧀 mozzarella potato corndog the potato coating gave it a nice extra crunch and texture, cheese pull was insane that we have to snap the cheese pull off. 🌶️ rose tteokbokki this was sooo good. the sauce was creamy and flavourful, and we both really enjoyed this one. but between the corndog and tteokbokki, we both actually preferred the tteokbokki more! we went during their opening promo, where every corndog we got came with a regular corndog for free 😆 little tip: eat the corndog while it’s still hot!! the cheese pull is sooo much better when it’s fresh. really happy that red dog is finally in singapore! also little tip: eat the corndog while it’s still hot!! if you haven’t tried it before, do give it a try~ #singaporeeats #foodsg #funan #eatsingapore #reddog by @sunnythorneats
📍Rituals of Kora 5 Everton Prk, #01-36, Singapore 080005 (cozy cafe under hdb) @ritualsofkora earl grey maple matcha 🍁 always wanted to try earl grey matcha as i love earl grey teaaaa and was pleased with the taste! it had a strong taste of the earl grey and topped with maple biscoff cream SO YUMMY the matcha was thick and slightly bitter but was sweeter as we mixed the cream corn milk matcha 🌽 q a popular new add on to the matcha but was not what i expected …. maybe it’s not for me but the matcha was pretty salty and grassy😓 however the cornflakes were a good texture addition to the drink triple chocolate pecan cookie 🍪 was alright would be nicer warmed up but the pecan was huge and cookie was sweet but not too sweet lovely cafe overall with a japanese style interior and super comfy seats THERES EVEN A SOFA THERE OMG great for a chill sunday breakfast DID I MENTION THERES CDC🫣🫣 ~one note to take: there is a different pricing for the matcha powder, the ‘premium’ one is at a higher price, do check it out before ordering the drink! #matcha#sgcafe#ritualsofkora#evertonparksg by @sunnythorneats
📍 Keen’s Bagelry 🥯 12 Marina Vw, #02-19/20 Asia Square Rower 2, Singapore 018961 @keensbagelry IS FINALLY MY TURNNN TO TRY 😈😈😈, they close quite early so i always missed out, but i finally managed to try it! 🥯 truffle chicken bagel the chicken was SO THICCCCKKK and CHEWY! i loveeee the texture of it! the truffle flavour was also pretty prominent, so if you love truffle, you’ll enjoy this. 🥯 truffle salmon bagel generous with the salmon there was a good amount in every bite, and the truffle flavour was still really THERE! only thing was that i found the salmon a little salty, but overall still really enjoyed this! went on a saturday afternoon and was surprised by how much seating there were! i really think that is a really nice place to chill and enjoy your bagel on a weekend. the service staff were really nice and friendly too! overall, i think their bagels are worth coming down to try, especially if youre a truffle lover! #sgeats #bagel #sgfoodies #foodiesg by @sunnythorneats
