I am beyond excited and grateful to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Tulsa. I want to Thank God for giving me the gift of running, Coach Cutler for his impact on my life and my family and friends who have supported me along the way. I also want to thank Coach Gulley and @tulsatrack for this amazing opportunity!

And that’s a wrap on High school track.

First, I want to thank God for the ability to run. This running community is something truly special and I am super thankful for it. He has given me a very special gift and I want to use it to lift up His name. He is so worthy to be praised. He gave up his life so that I can live even when I don’t deserve it. He has stayed with me and comforted me through all the highs and the lows. Thank you Lord for your greatness and your mercy. Thank you for Iowa track!

Second, I want to thank all my friends, coaches, and family who made this sport special for me. To my friends, thank you all for all the fun memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for your commitment to the team and making practice fun! To my coaches, thank you for believing in me and investing all the time and energy in me, it has meant so much. To my family, thank you all for the love you have shown me on and off the track. No matter the outcome, I know you guys are in my corner!

Quentin, it has been a great ride with you. I have truly enjoyed our time together competing on the course and on the track. You have pushed me towards times my freshman year self would have thought were impossible. You are crazy talented and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for your future, I know it is special!

Finally, I want to thank the Iowa running community. You are what made this sport special for me. I am going to miss all the afternoons on the blue oval with thousands cheering on all the runners competing. Thank you to everyone who I have met at the small and the large meets. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me and cheered me on, it has meant the world. It will be so hard leaving this community because of all the amazing people that make it up. As this season came to a close, I kept thinking about the quote from The Office “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them” from Andy. I am leaving this season with so many fun memories and learning experiences. While I am sad this chapter is closing, I am excited for what God has in store for me in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
