Karthik was 11 when he was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition. Much of his childhood was shaped by hospital corridors, medical care, and uncertainty about the future. In February 2019, open heart surgery changed the course of his life. Today, he is training to become a cardiac surgeon, hoping to one day save lives, just as his doctors saved his. He now calls 7 February 2019 his Second Birth Date.

Guillain Barré syndrome left Arif unable to move or speak. When his condition became critical, his doctor whispered, “Hang in there.” He held on to those words through treatment and rehabilitation as his doctors, physiotherapists and family helped him learn to move and walk again. Today, Arif is back on his feet. He calls 1 November 2017 his Second Birth Date.

Mumni Tayeng grew up watching the world outside with a heart that could not keep up.

Running, playing, and dancing had to wait. Books became her best friends, while her family kept hoping for an answer.

A complex heart and lung transplant changed her journey. It gave her the chance to move, study, dance, and live with renewed strength.

Today, she calls 19 February 2019 her Second Birth Date.
