I am so incredibly grateful to be the first recipient of the Fabric Pantry Scholarship in honor of Betty Gilliland!

Thank you so much to @thefabricpantry_ksu and the Gilliland family, and of course everyone who has supported me throughout my college career thus far!

This piece was my look for FSO's Punk: a Tribute to Vivienne Westwood show and I made it almost entirely out of secondhand materials.

If anyone ever wants to go find secondhand fabric with me, I am so down. by @sunpiperdesign

A huge thank you to FSO, Felicity, and of course my friend, Sabrina. What a fun show!

This look is made with secondhand fabric, buttons, and chains--aside from the coutil, ribbon, and other corset supplies (and tights + shoes). It was so fun to pair a Vivienne Westwood choker with this look! The white necklace belonged to my Grandma :)
I will definitely be experimenting with more of my corsets in the future, as this was my second one ever.

INTERLINKED. Part 2: Technical Flats. From my semester abroad in Paris, France with KSU x IFA Paris. From our initial collection, we chose three favorite looks and developed our technical sketches. From these sketches, we chose a final look to produce. These flats were chosen from my lineup in my concept book (part 1) and completed in late March.

INTERLINKED. Part 1: Concept Book. My collection from my semester abroad in Paris, France this past spring. Here are some of my favorite pages from my concept/progress book for this project, of which I started all the way back in January. A post of my final technical flats, illustrations, and garment coming soon!

The theme of this collection is Connection. I wanted to explore how the connection you have with yourself dictates how you interact to the world around you. Everything stems from this introspection. I was heavily inspired by the line work I could see in my own body and relating it to oil cracks in paintings, the metro in Paris, and an art exhibition at Le Bon Marché.

(I have been in a jewelry intensive since returning home, so I'm just now getting around to posting this haha).

Final Jewelry Concepts Project: Nature Transformed
🪽
Tasked with picking an inspiration from nature to create a ring, I chose one that also aligned with my fashion design studio class final: the Great Blue Heron.

I utilized the casting process to create this piece with sterling silver. The dark gray color was achieved through a liver of sulfur patina to bring out the details! I also made a second ring for fun!

My final garment for my 3d Draping course was a notched collar blazer lined with a gray satin. I embroidered angel wings on the back panels! 🪽

Our class put on a small showcase to exhibit our work over the past five weeks. Thank you endlessly to Makenna and Elyssa for modeling for my looks! This has been my favorite studio so far, especially thanks to all my talented classmates who were there alongside me!

This summer, I've had the joy to be taking 3d Fashion Design Practice, otherwise known as the draping course. It is so fun to hone my skills over the summer. Here are my first two projects!

The No-cut dress (slide 2) was a challenge to make a dress out of 3 yards of fabric without cutting it! I decided to do an open back bubble hem mini dress.

My most recent project was the boned bodice (slide 1). This is my 6th corset I have made since taking the Corsetry course last summer!

Our final project is a lined outfit, so stay tuned :)

Concepts Project 2: Texture, Shine, Volume, Seam/Style Lines
🌊🐟🦞🦦🤿
I named this conceptual collection "Lesser Devils" after the manta ray type. For this project, I did research at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and got my inspiration from there. We also emulated different illustration styles of artists! I included a few concept book pages that I enjoyed making.
