my love letter to theatre,

I never thought I would truly ever love theatre, even in high school. then I was unsure if I loved the idea of it or just the people.
I was so shocked at myself when I found myself doing it in college and was sure that I would stop once I got to university park.
I am so happy to have been a part of so many productions. dead man’s cell phone and producing legally blonde were the best way and the best people to end my theatre career with (at least for now).
from horse girls to mortal game, to bright star and to alice, every c-show, and everything in between, thank you for everything nrt and thespians. thank you for reminding me why I love my art, why I continued my passion. thank you for loving me. I will always love you (:

I genuinely don’t know where to start. my THON journey has been nothing short of amazing. starting off with berks benefiting THON, I didn’t know what to expect from being family relations chair, but I soon found myself introduced to a whole new world. these families had so much love to give regardless of the hardships in their lives and I was immediately inspired.
the year after that I had the opportunity to dance to represent the people who I have learned to love the most in the world. forty-six hours with my best friends making memories of a life time (even if everything felt a little blurry), I will never forget those moments for the rest of my life.
as I went to university park, I was worried about my future with THON. I had so much love for the people and memories I have created, I was scared my expectations were too high and that I would constantly be stuck in comparison. I found my place in R&R as an SL where I had made friends and had the best captain. I can’t even imagine telling my first year self that I knew every zone, portal,- or even knowing what those words meant.
fast forward to now. I have had the honor and the privilege to be a 2025 communications captain. I have gotten to meet the most inspiring people ever. people who have the most passion and drive I have ever experienced. being an IDC liaison opened so many doors and gave me the family I thought I lost when I came up to university park. on top of that, I got to lead the most wonderful (brain rot) first-year committee with the best co-captain I could ever ask for. I am beyond appreciative for the people I have had the gift to love and learn from so deeply.
I never knew I would have the opportunity to meet so many people from all walks of life that all had the same goal— everything is for the kids. it’s so bittersweet to close my chapter as a THON volunteer, but nothing will ever replace the love. I don’t think I will ever find something that matches the feeling of the result of 9pm meetings, roundtables, and endless teams messages. all leading up to a forty-six hour marathon resulting in 17.7mil for the kids.
