Book Review: The Wedding People 🌊

Love is complicated, its loss can make life suck so bad you think you want to die, but it goes on, even if you don't want it to, it's never too late to start over and feel the sun again 🌞 The Wedding People is full of tenderness and life. And copious factoids.

Have you ever wanted to just throw an egg at someone and run away?

This book is for the faceless rebels, a reminder of power in number and sway in the crowd. A story about ordinary people finding solidarity and honoring their individuality through pranks of justice and a ukelele class. Fans of @pettycrimespod would like these petty crimes.

The nuance!

Richard Gadd's limited series crime thriller recounts the true story of how he was stalked by an older woman in his early twenties who would call him "baby reindeer". This show blew me away with his nuanced portrayal of London's comedy scene, stalking, police involvement, and sexual assault. Gadd explores vulnerability and shame with incredible sincerity all while captivating viewers with an intriguing story and complicated characters.

Friendship breakups suck, especially when they're your person. 😢

Set in Toronto/GTA to the backdrop of Grey's Anatomy, début novelist @teamutonji explores the intersection of race and class on a friendship that innocently spawned at a young age, and whose power imbalances got swept under the rug until there was just too much to ignore.
