For the second edition of the PHX Hip-Hop Zine, we've partnered with @phx_hiphop to document 2025, gathering our personal favorite releases and transforming them into a tangible piece of Arizona hip-hop history.

This zine is a tribute to the collaborative efforts and independent spirit that make the Phoenix scene what it is. To the artists who pushed the boundaries this year, the people, venues and record stores who work odd hours to put on events—we made this for you. Thank you.

2025 was defined by artists like
@drlaflow who made appearances on collaborative projects like ARNAM PALMER and tracks like The Voices with @oldman.ra. He went from an unknown artist to me to one of my favorite lyricists in the valley, just through his willingness to drop a verse on the @arnam_samples tape that set the tone for the year.

It was defined by people like @alxsls who worked with @gorgeousjefe on the track that was used in this video, Cream of the Crop from his 2025 album Canvas.

It was also defined by people like @benjadasai and the team over at @phoenix_psypher1 who give AZ artists a platform to express themselves artistically in a collaborative space through their cypher videos.

And last but not least shoutout to the people, venues, and record stores that worked odd hours to help put on the shows for artists we all know and love. Everyone over at @grandaverecords @central.records @niletheater @myspace.phx @marqueetheatre @valleybarphx trillphx @yuccataproom & @thecovenphoenix to name a few.

Stay tuned for the review on 2026...

RARE AIR‼️ Phoenix showed up and out last night for @arnam_samples album release party celebrating his latest project ARNAM PALMER. The show started at 10 and went until like 2am, and dem boys were rapping their asses off.

Shoutout @unorthodocks for creative directing the trailer, this event was immaculate fr. Central Records was a great venue with seating and a bar, definitely pulling up to any shows located there in the future. They just set the tone and raised the bar for events within the AZ music scene come 2025. Who else doing it like this?

I have tons of videos I will be posting in a giant recap, hmu if you need them! Go stream that ARNAM PALMER if you love HIP-HOP or AZ‼️

Did you peep the zine yet ? 👀 taken in Central Records by @sunset1kcity

✨New Reviews✨

Gorgeous Jefe had a massive project earlier this year with BLACK BLUES BROTHERS featuring none other than Lord Ra and many other talented people from the valley.

BEATS 2 RAP 2 was a highlight this year for anyone paying attention to Arizona Rap.

Then to close the year out Jefe gifted us with LIMITED EDITION FM, as well as ENCANTO VILLAGE which I haven’t even had the chance to listen to fully yet. TUNE IN‼️
