1 year as a black belt and it feels like the jiujitsu I do now barely resembles what I did from white to brown. Same mats, same gi, different martial art, it seems.

The belt wasn’t a finish line, it was a portal to start over with better questions and fresher ideas. What I thought I understood about skill, about coaching, about the game itself, keeps getting rewritten every few months. Even the version of me from three months ago looks like a different person from here.

Grateful for the ones who pushed me to see it.
