This is Rainy T11A. He's a 47 year old male Bigg's transient killer whale. As many times as we have tried to see him in the Sooke Basin, we have never been quick enough. Yesterday, though, we got really lucky, and we followed him (from land) from Comox to Campbell River. He was taking long dives and traveling fast, so he was hard to track at first, but thankfully, he slowed down when he reached CR by @sunshine_sparkles__

When you hear there is a T PARTY (Transient Orca Group) having a party in your area and say FUCK work and go be with what makes you most happy. Best day ever besides the encounter in July. Multiple seal kills 😬 but such is nature. Blessed to see it. Also some awesome Humpback shots. They are a little less exciting when feeding though lol. I am a huge amateur and too 900 photos. More to come. Haye that IG sizes them every time. by @sunshine_sparkles__

Waited for these two (T49c & T49A2) for a long time in Saltair and missed them going into Ladysmith Harbour even though we were watching like hawks. Saw an update that they were off Transfer Beach and got there as quick as we could. Just as we pulled up, T saw them breaching like crazy . It was getting dark, was very cloudy, and I was holding my 7lb camera and lens (didn't have time to get my monopod) so the shots of the breaching aren't great. My camera and lens don't do well in low light. But they were so active!! Then we figured they were done feeding so drove the 15 mins to Elliott Beach and they were surfacing so close to shore just as we pulled up in the the parking lot. I jumped out of the car as it was still moving and ran for the beach, lol. I never run because of MS, lol. It was such a great evening!! by @sunshine_sparkles__
