✨ Hey there, new friends! ✨ Lots of new faces around here lately, so we thought we’d reintroduce ourselves.

We’re Kate, James, Lila, and Hayes- a Florida family who loves sharing our adventures (and misadventures 😅) in family travel, home life, and all the joy in between.

Traveling with kids? Never easy. Always worth it. The best part is seeing the world through their eyes- the questions, the wonder, those big “wow” moments that make every trip unforgettable.

And while full-time travel sounds dreamy, we’re just not there... yet 😉 So we focus on making *everyday magic* right where we are- local gems, fun themed dinners, water sports with tons of snacks… the simple joys in the everyday! And we’re so grateful for it! ❤️

Want to build your own floating shark tooth sifter? 🦈🦷

We kept getting DMs and questions, so we finally made this guide for you.

We made this one with:
• 2 pieces of 1/2” PVC pipe (8 ft long) • 4 Tee fittings • 4 elbow fittings • 2 pool noodles • Metal mesh or screen • Zip ties 
It’s inexpensive, easy to make, and has become one of our favorite tools for shark tooth hunting.

Sometimes curiosity really does pay off. 😂

We spotted a line of cars pulled over on the side of the road in what felt like the middle of nowhere… so we decided to see what everyone was looking at.

A few minutes later we found this incredible natural rock slide. 🤯

And no- this is not the big well known one in Pisgah. 😉

We’ve been coming to WNC for about 15 years and this spot surprised us in the best way. 🙌

If you’re road-tripping through western North Carolina, this one is absolutely worth the stop. 😍

Am I right or am I right? 👀 how perfect is that audio? 😆

If the water is dark or murky, that’s a “no thank you” for me. Lol

Especially down here in Florida where we have 🦈🐊🐍🪼

BUT, we do have plenty of places with water as clear as the Bahamas! 🙌 Like this beauty in the video:

✈️ I had NO idea this was allowed. 🤯

If your water bottle is filled with ice only (no liquid water), you can usually bring it through TSA security in the U.S. As soon as you’re through, top it off at a water bottle filling station and you’ve got ice-cold water for your flight…for free. 💧❄️

One thing to know: the ice needs to be completely frozen when you go through security. If it’s slushy or there’s liquid in the bottom, it can be treated like a liquid and may not be allowed.

This might be the biggest one we’ve found yet. 🤯

They spend their lives buried in the swash zone, filtering tiny bits of food from the water as the waves roll in. Most beachgoers walk right past them without ever knowing they’re there.

The funny part? Almost everyone calls them something different.

What do you know these as?
🐚 Sand fleas?
🦀 Mole crabs?
🏖️ Sand crabs?
…or something else?

My mood after floating through crystal-clear water for five minutes: fixed. ✨📈 Seriously I love this audio 😂

We just did this float and I’m officially obsessed. So fun. So easy. Soooo beautiful.

You literally float down a crystal-clear spring through some of the prettiest scenery ever. No hiking. No paddling. No big adventure skills required. Just grab a tube and float.

This is easily one of the coolest AND easiest family adventures in Florida! 🙌

And the best part? Kelly Park is super affordable to visit, which makes this feel like such a hidden gem for families! Only $3 to $5 per vehicle! 🤯

You asked for the tutorial, so here it is! 🌊

We built this DIY Aqua Scope (Bathyscope) to make it easier to spot shark teeth, shells, crabs, fish, and other marine life beneath the surface.

Our kids love it, but us adults do too. 😁

Materials: • PVC pipe; 4” • PVC “Hub” female adaptor: 4” • Clear plexiglass (acrylic sheet) • Clear waterproof caulk or silicone • Rubber tubing • 2 handles
