I started in hospitality as a host - reading a room before I ever ran one. Learning the timing. The importance of the greet. How to stay calm when table 8 is 45 minutes over a 2-hour slot, and they just ordered another round. Since then, I’ve led front-of-house teams, had my own classroom, oversaw teaching staff, opened some of your favorite venues coast to coast, been called in for major operational turnarounds, and built the backbone behind $MM launches. Underneath all of it - a fascination with the space between what someone imagines and what it takes to make it work. Turns out, I wasn’t just learning how to run businesses. I was learning how to make vision executable. I can talk P&L, restructuring, staffing, risk, and multi-market execution - but I also have a background in Education and Studio Art, and I think about environment and experience just as much as I think about margins. In 2024, I took everything I’d learned and built Sunstone Ops Collective. We do things a little differently here - it’s more than P&L structure, forecasting, and labor management.
