METY TOYZ – Shura Takigawa (Deluxe Version)

Until now, Mety Toyz had never really caught my attention. I knew they produced high-quality figures, but their slightly stylized, almost cartoon aesthetic never felt like a natural fit for the Sanctuary for Super Evil Action Figures.
Then came Shura Takigawa.

The sculpt is heavier, the proportions feel more grounded, the armor has real weight, and every accessory serves a purpose. Instead of exaggerating fantasy, it embraces brutality. It doesn't ask for attention... it owns it.

Even before posing it, there were good signs everywhere: premium packaging, excellent paintwork, solid materials, and that unmistakable nobody-has-opened-this-figure-before-you smell we all pretend not to enjoy.

To me, this release feels much closer to Maestro Union's Syuten Douji than to Mety Toyz's previous work. It carries that same violent, imposing presence that instantly demands attention.

Without a doubt, this one has earned its place in the Sanctuary for Super Evil Action Figures.

This one definitely gets my recommendation.

We’ve seen remakes of so many classics… so why is Metal Gear Solid still missing?

It’s the game that changed everything for stealth, storytelling, cinematics—and for many of us, it was the first time a video game felt bigger than just a game.

Konami is remaking MGS3. Cool. But let’s be honest: this story started in Shadow Moses. That’s where we met Snake, faced Psycho Mantis, and crawled through vents like legends.

Why remake the middle chapter first?

If there’s one game that deserves a proper, ground-up remake… it’s the original Metal Gear Solid.

Your first one. That moment when it all clicked.

For me, it was Spawn III, Series 7.
I was already deep into the comics—late ’96, a friend in college handed me an issue and I got hooked fast. I started hunting down every back issue I could find.

Then one day at the comic shop, I saw him.
The figure. The box. The cape.
I bought it instantly—not to collect, just because it was Spawn.

But the moment I held it… something shifted. A switch flipped.
And just like that, I was no longer just a reader. I was becoming a collector.

Of course, to friends and family it was just “a toy.”
And let’s just say the girl I was into at the time… wasn’t into that.
But I knew—I had crossed into something else.
No turning back.

After weeks of cleaning, posing, hanging, tweaking, regretting, re-posing, and minor existential crises… the collection is finally back on display!

Each in their rightful place (until I change my mind again).

Sure, the shelves don’t have doors yet… which means the dust will return. It always does. Like a persistent sequel nobody asked for.

Imagine a movie about the real nemesis we all fight in silence? Dust.

A menace that never dies. A villain with infinite lives and zero mercy.

The comeback no one asked for, but it's happening anyway! 🏆🎭

After a long break (thanks, life, for the unexpected plot twists), Super Evil Action Figures is back in action. The collection spent years boxed up, gathering more dust than Mumm-Ra’s temple, but that ends now.

Time for the collector’s sacred ritual: dusting, repairing, arranging, and obsessing over every single figure. There's still a lot to do, but the process has begun—and it’s coming in full force.

Life throws curveballs, but there’s always a way to get back to what makes you happy. And if that means hours of cleaning, precision glue surgery, and the eternal dilemma of which figure goes on which shelf… so be it.

Stay tuned for new photos and more figures coming soon… ish.

Christen entered the bathroom and then it happened... (falling in love music plays) my first scene with Freddy. It is clear to me that this is where my interest in all of this began.
