January 9th, 2026 will be the day a part of my soul died. Strange that it took me two years to cry when my father died, but I haven't stopped crying since Lucifer left this earth.

He came into my life when I was just taking care of him from time to time. But since 2020 he lived with me permanently. I guess everyone says this about their pet, but he really was special. From the very first moment, he approached me as if we already knew each other. I wasn't even really a cat person before him.

Always next to me in every room of the house. Never broke anything, sometimes behaved more like a dog than a typical cat. He just had a way with people, many that met him ended up adopting a cat afterwards, and thanking him for it. Even if you didn't like cats, he would slowly approach you and make you feel welcome.

I'll always treasure the little moments with him. Having to put a blanket by my side or he would sleep on my pillow. The times he saw me leaving the house and worried that I abandoned him, to being extremely happy when I returned hours later. The way he took possession of all the blankets, coats, and bags, deciding they were the perfect place to chill, waiting for me to open the door to let him explore a bit (even if he could do it anytime from the window).

And now the house feels empty... Quiet.
No more seeing him waiting for me at the door or window and giving me all he could give me.

I didn't lose a pet. I lost someone. I lost the one who shared my happiness and sadness, who trusted me blindly, and who was there when nobody else was.

Hurts to think of how he probably hid his illness until he had no strength left. I kept hoping for a miracle. After the blood transfusion things looked hopeful. I just wanted to be there for him as long as I could.
The image of his face watching me leave the hospital room haunts me as I didn't know it was the last time I’d see him alive.

I have never loved anyone the way I loved Lucifer. I miss him more than words can say.
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not spiritual, but I hope that he's in a better place now. I hope that someday I'll see him again and have the honour of being by his side wherever that may be. taken in Spain, Costa del Sol by @superclaudioo

Caves of Hercules and surrounding area, Tangier, Morocco

Legend claims the Roman hero Hercules rested in this cave before his 11th labor. Its most iconic feature is the sea-facing opening, known as the "Map of Africa," which was partially carved by the Phoenicians and perfectly frames the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

My Cappadocia balloon trip, Turkey
