On September 9, 2026, join us for our LIVE EVENT SCREENING in Brooklyn, New York at the @nitehawkcinema in Williamsburg for the 2026 Etheria Film Festival!

This festival event is co-hosted by the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival @brooklynhorrorfest and The Future of Fillm is female @futureoffilmisfemale, without whom this screening could not happen.

Caryn Coleman @caryncoleman will introduce the films, and Tori Potenza @theneonbanshee will conduct the question and answer session with our filmmakers in attendance:

Kristina Klebe @kristinaklebe because we are world-premiering the trailer for her feature-length directorial debut NOXTURNE, a romantic thriller with plenty of steam and madness.

Minnie Schedeen @minnie.movies with her short film VISITORS, a seriously messed up, clever alien invasion film in the vein of ROSEMARY'S BABY by way of ANNIE HALL.

Sandra Powers @lil.spooky.powers whose film BESTIAS DE LA MUERTE @bestiasthefilm is (I'm just going to call it) the best animated short film of the year.

Kara Grace Miller @karagmiller our returning Etheria veteran (they produced the unutterably fantastic Make Me A Pizza @thepizzamovie which was one of our 2024 Official Selections) with the directorial effort GOG, in which a group of unsuspecting friends end up having a horrible boating accident (THAT WAS NO BOATING ACCIDENT) with...something...

Christianne Hedtke @bananawho whose period piece SUPERCONSCIOUS @superconscious__ is set in 1973 and starts off as a film about the CIA's Remote Viewing program and psychic abilities and then goes TO THE DARKEST PLACE YOU NEVER SAW COMING.

If you're in the New York Area, you can't miss this if you call yourself a fan of genre and film.

Buy tickets at the link in our bio or here: https://nitehawkcinema.com/movies/the-2026-etheria-film-festival/ (It's easier if you Google "Etheria 2026"+"Nitehawk")

Thank you to Joseph Hernandez for all the support! @officialjoeshow taken in Nitehawk Cinema - Williamsburg by @superconscious__

The 2026 Etheria Film Festival is screening LIVE on August 28 at 7pm at the Los Feliz 3 Theater courtesy of the American Cinematheque!

Join us for this fabulous evening of the BEST new short horror and fantasy films of the year (oh and they happen to be directed by women) with filmmakers in attendance!

First, we'll screen the secret world premieres of two trailers for feature films directed by some VERY recognizable and beloved women in horror. You won't want to miss these!

Then, we'll screen 8 short films that will blow your fucking mind they're so good.

Then, we'll have the directors there in person for a question and answer session following the screening! We'll have Sandra Powers (BESTIAS DE LA MUERTE), Kara Grace Miller (GOG), Christianne Hedtke (SUPERCONSCIOUS), Minnie Scheeden (VISITORS), Kelsey Bollig (THE BONES EXIST), and Alexandra Hayden (WALL UDDER) live to talk about their amazing films. Oh, and intrepid programmer and curator Abby Wright will be hosting the q and a as well as introducing the lineup.

It's a short but VERY very sweet event.

You can buy a ticket here: https://www.americancinematheque.com/now-showing/the-2026-etheria-film-festival-short-film-showcase-08-28-2026/ (Don't type that in, Google "Etheria 2026"+"American Cinematheque" and it will pop right up)

In its 12th year of making cinematic history, Etheria has discovered and launched the careers of masters of horror such as Axelle Carolyn (STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS), Gigi Saul Guerrero (V/H/S/85), Chloe Okuno (WATCHER), Mariama Diallo (MASTER), Roseanne Liang (MURDERBOT), Natalie Erika James (SACCHARINE), Prano Bailey-Bond (CENSOR) and more.

I’m excited to unveil the original poster art for SUPERCONSCIOUS designed by @oliveruberti whom we were so lucky to get to work with on this project. Apart from the poster design he also designed our main title and credits, evoking the film’s 1970s vibe. These are signed limited edition silkscreen prints from @vgkids - DM if you’re interested in having one of your own!

Oliver is a former senior design editor for @natgeo and currently a freelance title designer and motion GFX artist for film and television. He also writes and illustrates books. His latest, Hidden Nations of Animals, will be published by Penguin Random House in June 2026.
