This is 16. 👑

Sixteen years… how did we get here? From my therapy dog era, surfing era, corgi beach days and pool parties, to my dm journey and stroller rides every chapter of my life has been a gift, and I’m so thankful for all of it.

I may be old and have DM, but I’m still here alert, present, happy, and feeling every bit of love you send my way. I still love being surrounded by my favorite people and making others smile, just like I always have. I even had a surprise pool birthday pawty, and my friends and family turned it into something so special. With donated raffle prizes and so much generosity, we raised $1,000, which helps cover one full month of my weekly rehab treatment. 😭😭😭

Thank you to everyone for all the birthday cards, brought gifts to the party, and surprised me with presents from my Amazon birthday wish list. I feel all the love and I’m such a lucky corg to have you all in my life.

Happy birthday to all my January 29 birthday twins too 🎉
If you’re celebrating with me today, please give your pup an extra treat, hug, or belly rub in my honor.

Rest in paradise my baby Jojo!! We love you so so much!! This weekend, we gave my sweet Baby Jojo the beautiful send off he deserved. Seeing him surrounded by flowers, his surfing memories, and so many people who loved him meant everything to me. He looked so handsome and peaceful. I want to thank Peaceful Waters Aquamation for making the room feel just like Jojo’s home, filled with everything that made him special. They went above and beyond to make his farewell so personal and beautiful.
To my family, friends, and everyone who came to say goodbye, thank you. Some of you traveled so far just to be there for us and to those who couldn’t make it but sent flowers, gifts, messages, or simply checked in on me, please know how much I appreciate you. These past months have been the lowest and hardest moments of my life. I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through them without the love and support I’ve received.
Jojo wasn’t just my dog. He was my baby, my best friend, my whole world, and such a huge part of who I am today. For more than 16 years, my life revolved around him, and now I’m trying to figure out how to live without him.
I would give anything to hold him one more time, kiss his little forehead, and tell him how much I love him. Thank you, Jojo, for giving me the most beautiful almost 17 years of my life. I hope I made you as happy as you made me. Being your mom will forever be my greatest blessing.
I took care of you your whole life, and you gave me a lifetime of love in return. Until we meet again, my sweet boy. Go run free, catch all the waves, and know that I will always love you.

JOJO’S BEST DAY EVER.
Yesterday, I made a promise to Jojo that we were going to have the BEST DAY EVER before he went to heaven and we did. Jojo started his morning doing what he loves most… shredding an ENTIRE pack of pee pads!!! He had steak and eggs for breakfast, we watched the sunrise together, went to the beach, and he even got his very own McDonald’s Happy Meal!
We also celebrated his 17th birthday early with our whole family. He got to enjoy red velvet cake and even had some of my favorite taro boba! We wanted to celebrate the birthday he wouldn’t get to have in January. But one of the most special parts of yesterday was reading him all the beautiful emails and messages you guys sent.
I read them to him in the car, on our way to the beach, and while we sat together watching him enjoy his Happy Meal. I cried so much reading your words, but there were so many happy tears too. Hearing all your memories of Jojo and how much he meant to you made me realize just how many lives he has touched. I wanted him to hear how much he was loved. Not just by me and our family, but by all of YOU.

At 6:29 PM on October 8, 2026, our sweet Super Jojo peacefully went to heaven, surrounded by his family and so much love.

He was surrounded by beautiful Hawaiian leis, some lovingly handpicked by my aunt darlith especially for him, others gifted by dear friends, and so many beautiful flowers from people who loved him. Everything around him reminded us of the incredible life he lived and how many hearts he touched. Thank you so much for loving him like your own! He truly grow up with you guys! You guys are like his second family!!! We love you guys so much!!! Rest in paradise Super corgi Jojo. We love you Jojo!! Jojo forever!!!!! 40 with my little princes.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my birthday. All I wanted was to be with my boys, eat good food, spoil them a little extra and make another beautiful memory together. Jojo has been by my side since I was 23, and getting to celebrate my 40th with him means more to me than I could ever put into words. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and for showing me, Jojo & Kilo so much love today. My heart is so full.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to write this and I don’t think there will ever be the right words. On October 8, we will be saying goodbye to our sweet Jojo at home. This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make because Jojo is still Jojo. His mind and personality are still there. He’s eating, enjoying his treats, taking his naps, shredding his pee pads and still giving me that beautiful little smile. He’s still having good days. But after more than 3 years of fighting DM, his little body is now completely paralyzed. There is no cure for DM, and I don’t want to wait until he’s struggling or until we’re forced to say goodbye during an emergency. I always told myself I wouldn’t let his last day become his worst day. I want Jojo at home, comfortable, surrounded by his family, flowers, Hawaiian leis and soooo much love. Almost 17 years with Jojo has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I got him when I was 23. We basically grew up together. He has taken me on so many adventures, introduced me to some of my best friends and changed my life in ways I could never explain.

And I want to thank all of YOU. Thank you to everyone who helped with Jojo’s care and rehab, donated, sent food, pee pads, supplies, gifts and treats, visited him, prayed for him, traveled to see him or simply loved and supported my boy from afar. Some of you have never even met Jojo, but you’ve loved him like you have.

Without you guys, I don’t think I could have been as strong through all of this. You helped me give Jojo so many more good days and beautiful memories. I will never forget that.

And to my Jojo… thank you for choosing me to be your mom. I would choose you again in every lifetime.

If there’s one thing I hope Jojo has taught everyone who has followed him, it’s to LIVE LIKE JOJO. Go on the adventure. Take the trip. Get in the water. Catch the wave. Eat the treats. Be silly. Hawaii #throwback

I know forever isn’t something I can ask for but the things I would give to keep Jojo with me for my entire lifetime. A month ago, I had one of the hardest conversations with Jojo’s doctor. We talked about his quality of life and whether it was time to let him go. Before that conversation, Jojo hadn’t been doing well. He was waking up almost every hour, having bloody stools, and his little body was getting weaker. So I stopped working. So I can be with him everyday. I decided that however much time we have left, I wanted to spend it with him. Being with him for a month he started having better days. So last week I asked Jojo if he wanted to go to the beach so I took him back to Hawaii one more time.

I wanted him to see his favorite people. I wanted to take him back to his favorite beach. I wanted him to be surrounded by the people who have loved him for so many years and somehow, Hawaii gave me my Jojo back for a little while.

He went to his favorite beach everyday. He was covered in leis. He saw old friends and made new ones. We made new memories. And while he was in the ocean, we watched him move his front legs and swim after not being able to move them for a month. 😭🌊

Now we’re home with Kilo and we’re still taking everything one day at a time. Since coming home, Jojo has been eating, sleeping in, drinking lots of water and having solid poops again. These might seem like little things, but right now they mean everything to me.

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. I try to be here and be present with jojo I am happy and grateful he is still here with us but I can’t stop crying each day that our time is limited.

Thank you to every single person who has helped with Jojo’s care, prayed for him, checked on us, supported us and helped make this trip possible. And to our Hawaii family, mahalo for showing up for Jojo and loving him like he’s your own. You gave us memories I will carry in my heart forever.
