The 9th edition of the #BiennaleCollegeCinemaImmersive has come to a close, and we are beyond excited to announce that our project #ReLaunchingLuigiBroglio (Italy) – directed by Vincenzo Cavallo and produced by Silvia Gioiello – has been selected as the winning project and will be presented in the #VeniceImmersive section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival! 🚀🎬 @labiennale

Last week, Re-Launching Luigi Broglio landed in Nairobi as part of #FareCinema 2026, bringing audiences into the extraordinary story of the Italian pioneer who launched Italy into space from Kenya.

The screenings were fully booked, and we were truly moved by the enthusiasm, curiosity and participation of everyone who joined us.

A heartfelt thank you to the @iicnairobi, @blackrhinovr, @culturalvideoproduction, @invr.space and all the partners, collaborators and participants who made this event possible.

Un’esperienza di Virtual Reality dedicata a Luigi Broglio, l’ingegnere che nel 1964 portò in orbita il primo satellite italiano, in cooperazione con la NASA, e che nel 1967 replicò l'impresa da una piattaforma marina in Kenya, il primo in assoluto dall'equatore.

🗓️ 1° aprile, ore 17:30, convegno e incontro pubblico con il regista Vincenzo Cavallo, la produttrice Silvia Gioiello, il giornalista Giorgio Di Bernardo Nicolai e Paolo Borgonovi, curatore di un volume di ricerca archivistica su Broglio. In collaborazione con il Centro di Studi Storici di Mestre.

Re-launching Luigi Broglio is flying to Japan 🇯🇵 for the Kyoto Historica International Film Festival (Dec 2–7).
An immersive 360° film that tells the story of the visionary Italians who built the world’s first equatorial sea launch base in Kenya and dared to challenge the space superpowers.

Proudly produced by @culturalvideoproduction in co-production with @invr.space, with the support of the Biennale College Cinema Immersive grant.

Just back from two amazing weeks at the Venice International Film Festival!

A huge thank you to La Biennale di Venezia and Biennale College Cinema for believing in us and making Re-Launching Luigi Broglio possible.

Special thanks to liz Rosenthal and @michelreilhac for hosting us on the magical Immersive Island.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow directors and producers, explore 69 VR works ranging from narratives to live performances to mixed-reality, and even gather enough energy to catch a few of the linear films in competition.

We’re thrilled to announce that our last production Re-Launching Luigi Broglio will be part of the Venice Film Festival – Immersive section, from August 27 to September 6 at La Biennale di Venezia!
A 360 experience that brings Luigi Broglio back to life to tell the story of how a group of Italian visionaries challenged the space superpowers by building the first equatorial launch base on a marine platform in Kenya.
Produced with the support of the Biennale College Cinema Immersive grant by La Biennale di Venezia.
The program is carried out with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, and the training activities are made possible thanks to Creative Europe Media.
