Elusive Racing Time Attack DC2R Gearbox Teardown

At Honda Nationals 2025, our Time Attack DC2R suffered a 4th gear failure, and we’ve finally had the chance to pull the transmission apart and see exactly what happened.

As expected, 4th gear had completely let go, with the gear teeth sheared off.

This DC2R came out of retirement for Honda Nationals 2025, and the last time this transmission was torn down was back in 2020, after the car returned from the USA following Super Lap Battle.

After years of racing and plenty of hard laps, it’s finally time to give the drivetrain the attention it deserves.

With Honda Nationals 2026 coming up this October, we’re working towards getting the DC2R rebuilt, refreshed and back on track once again.
