Swati came into my life at a time i felt deeply lonely. I was in school, had a group of friends who i considered very dear to me. I felt i learned the most about friendships and platonic love through the girls in that group and i was right. I did learn all of that. But i also learned that not eveyone is going to love you the same or be your friend in ways you imagine them to be. I was, indeed nobody's best friend. And that would come as a shock to me later when we finally graduate school. I was heartbroken and the feeling of lonliness was ever present. It felt like i was always chasing friendships and feelings and hoping the other person feels and shows love the same way. We were kids. And i was not perfect. And they were not perfect but at 14, 15, and 16, life is strange like that. Everything is the most important thing that is ever going to happen. And to a person with a lot of feelings, that meant life was either going to be marvelous or nothing at all. I learned life can be simple and yet so surprising and beautfiul, the same time swati came into my life. I was careful beacuse i was hurt in friendship. But my gaurd will eventually come down because swati was unlike anybody. It was open arms and straight forwardness without being cocky or bashful or arrogant. She just was...a friend? She is older than me and i think that plays a role somewhere in our friendship. I looked up to her and that changed the dynamics a little. I thought i knew what deep loyal frienships were before i knew her and maybe for a 15 year old, i was right in my ways to think so. But it was her, that changed everything it meant to me to be a true friend. She was my true friend. She is my true friend. Life just got significantly more beautiful and fulfilling because i have her. And as i get older, i realize how much life doesn't suck because i have these little moments of love and understanding that only comes with having true friends. I don't really know what the point of this post was but i watched Wicked and i kept thinking about this friend i have that would love this song as much as i do.
